A new scan tool hits the market

Does it work magic with the SBC system that was previously only available through STAR clones?
Is it just another iCarsoft II at a higher price?

I just post a question at the link above, so see how it goes.
Scanners and crystal ***** are the things that have the same customers perception. I have been asking sellers about what they do in the past and they usually have no clue.
To top it - most car forums neglect the subject. Only one forum had scanner section, but mercedesmedic just changed the server and the forum is not working for some time.
I will call schwaben tomorrow and if they have good return policy, I'll take the risk.
If that jives with what you find out tomorrow, that puts it several paces ahead of the iCarsoft II system for an extra hundred bucks. It'd be worth it if that's the case, and it's a lot easier to throw in the trunk and not worry about compared to a full blown STAR clone with a laptop computer.
It has my attention, and I'm looking forward to your input.

The chat person has no idea what DPF is, so I will call CS tomorrow and check their return policy.
I have some SBC functions on my MaixEcu, but don't own SBC anymore, so can't tell how far that can help.
Main issue is that lot of MB programming changed in 2014 and I have trouble dealing with my 2014 E250

Order placed and it should ship today. Will post review next week.

It is annoying and slow. Small screen, where you have to scroll the menu and then press the option to wait long time for scanner to communicate.
Only to get message that the scanner is not supporting the connection with this module.
I bought the scanner mainly for forcing DPF regeneration, while scanner has no DPF in menu at all.
In next couple of days I will spend some time with it on W211 and will see if there is option for SBC adaptation (even my W211 has no SBC)
But so far it is huge disappointment.

Scanner is slow. It takes 10 minutes for auto scan and each function scrolling require long wait. Few times when I had "wait" screen for couple of minutes I reset the scanner assuming it froze, but then few times it just took long wait for scanner to communicate. Small screen often shows only part of the display and scrolling long text can be confusing as it automatically rolls over the page.
But GOOD PART the scanner does good testing on W211
Did EGR test, run simulated compression test and that alone might be worth the scanner price if you are buying used car (the simulation is not too accurate per several experiences, but beats pulling glow plugs)
Now since SBC come to the question here, I don't have it on my W211, but here are screens that show when I enter my car system. How much it would show on SBC I don't know.
