Too many Tires

I have 2006 E320 (no air suspension) W211 and have read and read about tires getting chewed up. I am getting 15,000-20,000 miles on tires before I gave to buy new ones. I have alignment done 2 times a year. My passenger rear is having massive wear on inside (camber issue) of at least I thought it was camber. What parts do I need based on this last alignment (done June 20)? I was going to buy adjustable rear camber kit but the tire being chewed is within spec. Driver rear is fine and that is the one showing out of spec. Front camber is adjustable...right? I know back is an issue and this the reason to get rear adjustable camber kit. Thanks for your help.

I wish i got 20k miles out of a rear set of tires. It is normal for MB cars to wear the inside of rear tires.

What size wheels and tires do you have? I think that might be a factor. Or some bushing is worn out in the rear suspension. Probably the camber arms.

15k miles on my right rear I just pulled off last night 215/55R16.

Take a look at replacing the rubber bushings that are in the rear knuckle, in addition to the all the control arms that have rubber bushings. No rubber bushing will last 14 years.

Changing bushings isn't going to fix this if alignment is already within spec. This is a chronic problem on the 211.

so if I install after market adjustable camber kits ( looks like a tie rod) on front and back we will be good?

Worked for me. That link you sent, I wasn't able to see all the photos as they didn't all load, but it looked like he only changed the bushings on the control arms, not on the knuckle itself. Looking up SPC's info on that bushing kit, they state: "These adjustable bushings offer camber changes ±1.25° for the rear of Mercedes E Class (W211). Make the non-adjustable E Class adjustable for life by replacing the outer bushing on the upper control arms." So knuckle bushings are still the old original ones.

The bushings are built into the 5 control arms of the rear multilink, not the knuckle.

not true. The alignment results are absolutely worthless and to be ignored with bad bushings.

any dumb alignment tech can throw it on the rack and adjust until it’s in spec. The bushings are just going to flex when driving and wear.

OP needs to replace upper and lower control arm bushings and ball joints. The fact you’re doing an alignment twice a year is absurd.

with proper functioning bushings and quality tires you should get 30k a set.
