P - Selector lever in park position (in red)

Hello forum! Can anyone help me with this? My MB workshop did a diagnose, but didnt find any errors. They then deleted all, but this came back at once.

This errormessage appears every time i open the door on the driver side and the engine is off. And yes, the selector stand in P. It disappear when i close the door, and the car start and run as normal. If the engine run and i open the door on the driver side, the error do not turn up.

My car is a 2004 E320cdi, and it has keyless go. I suspect it can be a faulty microchip, a broken wire or a error inside the doorlock, but where to start? Anyone else who have experienced this?

Could be related to the SBC Hold feature.

Thx, i will try this. Never thougt this could have anything to do with SBC Hold. I noticed some months ago that my hold-function was faulty, so it can be the issue. Is there a way to de-activate the whole sbc hold, other than pushing the breake-pedal?

I'll make some more searches, will keep you posted.

Going on HOLD involvement, although no codes stored wonder if SBC unit is involved.

SBC Hold cannot be activated, it says. It may be a connection here? That said, this message came long before the errormessage "P-selctor lever in park position"

I've searched on the internet, and I think it' s either the doorlock or in the gearselector, and I leaning to the latter. The doorlock plays a part in the SBC, it run the breake test when I unlock the doors. But if it is the doorlock, then i should get the error-message also when opening the door when the engine is running. Therefore i now suspect the gear selctor. Have seen some on youtube struggeling with that. Does this sound logic to you??

But then, guess the gear selector unit is very expensive, even second hand. Maybe i just have to get used to the blinking and beeping?
