Picked up new E350 this week.
Hey Guys,
Just picked up my new E350 4matic. Got a nice deal on it from MB of Manhattan. Free scheduled maintence for the lenght of the lease P2 and sport package. Also getting the sport steering wheel added next week when it comes in.
Im pretty impressed with the new technology in the Command system. Coming out of a 08 W211 its a nice difference. I'm going to put the rear spoiler on the trunk and updrade the wheels soon. Not sure what wheel I want yet. Overall its a great car now that I have my hands on it. I did have my reservations about it but I went for it and I'm glad I did. i"ll get better pictures over the weekend. Sorry about the cheap cell phone pics.

Let me be the first to congratulate a fellow Bronx Bomber! Go Yanks!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I buy all my Benzes @ Manhattan, who's your salesman? Did you work the maintenance into the deal or Benz is like BMW now? I have to check my maintenance deal out.
Send me a pm, I have the shop for your tail and wheels in New Rochelle, my boy owns it. I came out of an 08' CLK 550 and had the same impression as you.

Congrats & are you sure you got P2? P2 comes with LEDs DRL. I also picked up an E350 Palladium silver / P2 / Panorama roof earlier this week.

Sorry I meant P1.. typo...
I am looking for a spoiler so maybe you can get me info on your boy's shop.
I deal with Johannes Gnack. They gave me that as part of my negotiations for the car. They came in at a higher price then Larchmont so he was able to lower the cost and throw in the maintenance at no additional charge.
I also got loyaty cash and EAB discount.

he just did a complete in and out for Rivera's Charger and many other celebs. He also makes his own wheels in house, he used to supply Will Castro of Unique whips, before Will closed shop and went to Miami.

Congrats man! Looks nice, and dig seeing it next to what seems to be the returned 211 E-Class. You got it equipped ideally IMO, the nice rims, beautiful interior combo with those colors and the burl wood, and IMO a lip is a must in order to try and alleviate some of the rear end issues on the car.
Since you're someone who initially had reservations about it, can you give a little write-up about what you like better than the 211, or worse, etc. now that you've had seat time with both?
Thanks.

Thanks guys, yes that 211 next to it was the returned leased 08. I was moving items from the old to the new. Yes, a lip is needed in the rear to give it some extra flare.
I had reservations about the styling first then after comparing the 212 to the 211 side by side, I can see the sleek lines and more aerodynamics in the body that really caught my eye. After driving it I was sold. I believe it handles better, smoother and the cabin is much roomier. Although I have the E350 it feels like it has so much more power then my 2008 E350 did when it was brand new. The technology in the command system is so much more advanced then in the 08. I didn't like the command in my 08.
I don't care too much for the rims so I'll be buying a new set soon. The Command system didn't take me to the exact address just like the 08 system. It will take you to the street but not the actual building or house number. But I can live with that as I have for several years now with all my benz's.

I'm not sure what you mean by this exactly. My '10 will take me to the exact address (I'd be lost otherwise).

I know what you mean about the styling. On its own, the 212 just doesn't agree with me enough for me to fully get myself to fall for it, try as I might, as I'm looking to replace my 211 with another car, and essentially would like to get an evolved iteration. And on its own, I can look at my car, or a nice 211 for hours and admire it. However, when I've put my car next to the 212 a few times, its kind of hurt me inside, to be honest.

Mine didnt take me to the exact address. Maybe I over looked something. I will check it out again and update you guys.
The 212 does feel more soild and the doors close better then 211. The 211 had a loose feel to it but it 's still a great car. No Xenons for me.
Maybe the 212 will grow on you. I didnt like it the first time I saw it and when I knew my lease was coming up I looked at other cars like BMW, Lexus, Jag etc but nothing jumped out at me. I even considered an ML but I dont need an SUV since I have a Ford F-150 which Im returning on lease in Feb 2011 and I'll get another F-150 or the Dodge Ram. After going to a few dealerships and looking back at the 212 it was becoming more appealing to me. Strange but I'm very glad that I stayed with MB. Ive had a few benz's already and never had any problems with them.

When you input an address It'll go like this -> State -> City -> Street -> Start. By default it'll highlight the "Start" after you finish the street, maybe that's why you didn't get to input the exact street number. I had to go back and highlight "No." to input street number. I only used it 2 times but that's what I remembered.

And, since you should have a free trial subscription to mbrace, you can email an exact address to the car in Google maps.
You are going to feel so good being dropped off at the front door now!

The feature of emailing directions from google maps stopped working while ago with the error "Sorry, we were unable to send this message at this time. Please visit the help page.". I was told by the MB tech-support this service was discontinued by MB. Have I been missing something?

I was told I have mbrace free for 6 months and I would have to activate it from the car which I havent done yet. I'll do it tomorrow.

You can also call them at 8669909007 from a landline/cell. Possibly more convenient as the call nominally takes 15 minutes or so. I told them to cut the crap and just do the important stuff, and it only took about 5 minutes. Have your VIN handy and know your 4-digit code that you set up with the dealer (dunno what you need if you didn't do this).

OK. I've just clarified this with traditional Vehicle Response Center (former Teleaid, 1-800-756-9018) and with the new competitor MBRACE (Since Nov 2009, 1-866-990-9007). Vehicles purchased after Nov 16, 2009 are covered under MBRACE, and the rest cannot be switched to MBRACE until Nov 11, 2010. Mine was purchased in Jul 2009. I prefer to switch to MBRACE as they seem to have more features like Remote Lock and Search & Send.
