I was looking at the Black on Black (Dark Side car) with the 20 inch wheels (by Rydenn 88) and thought it looked pretty nice.

Was thinking about AMG replica 19's but after looking at that Dark Side car I'm now thinking about the AMG Replica 20's, what do you guys think?

BTW whether 19 or 20 what do you like chrome, gun metal or the regular silver finish for a Black car.

20's are nice, be pretty bumpy for me though..........I'm considering black or gunmetal, and I'm sticking with the 18's

I'm thinking the same thing; silver painted 20" on Palladium Silver. Sure wish someone had this on a lowered E350 for us to see.

Anything but chrome. 20s will have a more dramatic look. With 19s, you'll prob can't tell the difference.

+1 to the comment "Anything but chrome"

Here are some 19s for reference.
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...rged-e550.html

if you're not going to lower the car and go for flush, you're probably better off going 19s with a lower profile tire to retain the overall diameter of stock. You'll have slightly more rim, enough rubber to keep comfort, and you won't look out of balance (need quite a bit of fine tuning to make 20s look balanced). 20s with low profile tires and big gap = funny. 20s with high profile tires = hilarious. just my $.02.

Just my opinion, but that car looks horrible. Stock wheels look better than that. Agreed though, if your going to change wheel size, definitely need to drop the car some to eliminate wheel well gap. And it doesn't take much effort to get it right. Spring manufacturers have done the work already. Just invest $399 in H&R springs, align and all is perfect.

haha. I wasn't going to go there about the other car, but since you did...i'm glad you emphasized the gap.

I think the OP has a 550 which is airmatic. He can't go with a spring swap. ELM, Star Diagnostics, or Links are the options i know of. Good luck OP and post pics when done!

BTW if you want to play with something that gives you a view of wheel vs car height try this link at Carlsson, from what they show a lowered car with 20's look really nice (I'm now thinking the AMG 20's lowered would look very nice) !! http://www.carlsson.de/carlsson/en/w...nfigurator.php

Over on the new S class forum a guy is posting about a group buy of replica 20's split spoke stars with a slightly more concaved appearance. They look really good! I don't know if the offset of the S would work on the E. If not, maybe we can contact the person manufacturing this wheel for an E class group buy. It is one of the first few threads over there if this link doesn't work.

Thanks for the heads up I put a note over there as well, maybe the supplier would do a quantity buy for a couple of different fits.
