RE: MSRP Release for the 2012 E-Class Sedan & Wagon Family
We are pleased to announce pricing for the E-Class sedan and wagon, including the E63 AMG variants.
E-Class 350 & 550 Sedan and Wagon
Uniquely created for the Canadian consumer is the Launch Edition package equipped on all E350’s. The E350 BlueTEC with Launch Edition package is priced at $65,600 and E350 4MATIC sedan and wagon respectively at $66,300 and $70,400 including Launch Edition package. This new package adds over $4,200 of value to the E350’s, featuring; leather upholstery, ARTICO leather dashboard, panoramic sunroof, and COMAND APS navigation. The Launch Edition package will be applied to 100% of the E350 models until the introduction of the all-new E300 4MATIC in early 2012.
The all new BlueEFFICIENCY direct-injection V-6 engine delivers improved performance with 302 hp and 273 ft-lb of torque and reduced fuel consumption of about 10% versus the outgoing V-6, further enhancing the already strong position of the E-Class.
The price of the E550 4MATIC sedan at $74,500 remains flat versus the 2011. At no additional charge, the all-new 4.6L Bi Turbo V-8 engine brings an extra 20 horsepower and 52 ft-lbs of torque (402 hp & 443 ft-lbs) while reducing fuel consumption by approximately 10% versus the outgoing 5.5L V-8 engine.
E63 AMG Sedan and Wagon
Few vehicles represent the Mercedes-Benz brand better than the E63 AMG. Year after year, the E63 AMG Sedan has set the bar among the competition, this year it won’t be doing it alone. We are excited to announce both the E63 AMG Sedan priced at $99,500 and the all-new E63 AMG Wagon priced at $102,100. This outstanding MSRP represents a $7,400 repositioning (9.7%) of the E63 AMG Sedan versus the outgoing 2011 model.
The pattern of overachieving continues with new equipment added as standard:
Nappa leather upholstery
Driving Assistance Package (blind spot monitoring and lane keeping assist)
New 19” AMG 7-twin-spoke wheel design
EASY-PACK Power Tailgate (E 63 AMG Wagon)
These two E63 AMG variants offer the true automotive enthusiast power and performance by-way of the all-new 5.5L Bi-Turbo V8 engine with ECO start-stop technology. This direct-injection V8 engine produces 518 hp and 516 ft-lbs of torque in standard form and 550 hp and 590 ft- lbs with the optional AMG Performance Package. Fuel economy is improved by 20% versus the outgoing 6.2L engine.
Nice to see more diversity with the wheels. These cars are such hot sellers, MBUSA really needs to give as much visual diversity across the range as possible, to keep things interesting and allow the car to age gracefully.
As for the MPG, it looks like the listed numbers are only 1 MPG better than the listed numbers on the previous 3.5L? WTF? I was expecting a lot better. Competitively speaking, the MPG of the E350 is vastly behind the competition. I wonder if they'll follow BMW's lead with the 5-Series and eventually offer a 4-Banger E-Class in the States (hopefully not).

Thanks for the info for Canada on the 2012 sedans.
Do you happen to have info on the 2012 E550 option packages, what they include and the costs?
I know these packages are different from those offered in the U.S.
Thanks.

Do you know when is the release date for E550 sedan for Canadian market? My salesperson says mine will be here close to last week of November even though I was first one to order from their dealership. Seeing it is already out in USA, I do not think Canadian release would be delayed till November...
Thanks for sharing the info.

Indeed.
Also, the new 18" split 5-spoke wheels are hideous; Canada retains the existing flat 5-spoke 18" wheels on the 350 as standard.
No sport steering wheel offer for Canada, since it is not heated. The typical 4-spoke steering wheel remains standard on all models. You could probably special order the sport steering wheel (code 277) if you prefer, but you'd lose the heat.

but I still think the hockey sticks are sharp you know?
it really helps the aggressive look of the front end IMO....

Thanks for the Canadian price info .
I test drove a c63 and was considering the coupe. Then my wife totalled her Q7 and the door opened to other possibilities.
I've been circling the w212 wagon and the news of the price drop set the hook.
I would appreciate all of your thoughts on negotiating the best deal on my wagon order.
I'm not tied to any particular dealer.
Thanks
As for negotiation, it depends where you are. Based on your username, I'm assuming you're out west. I don't have any affiliation with any dealers out there; perhaps others can chime in. Also, member Rovermark (I think) has a beautiful '11 wagon for reference. You may want to search him out for his thoughts on the car.

I understand the dealer spread is about 8% over invoice. Is there any other money in play on these cars ?
