"Anti-theft Activated. Service Required" error message...
Last night, I went to drive the car, and it started and drove fine, but on the nav screen display it said "Anti-theft Activated. Service Required." None of the audio/nav/backup camera or anything worked. I called Roadside Assistance and they said it had to be taken to the dealer as it was a software issue. This morning the message is gone and everything works fine again.
i've been wondering if this is related to the problems with the car not recognising the key fob. i've had that happen a few times and i know others on the forum have as well.

I have the vin number from the donor car where I bought the unit and tag receipt. The replacement radio is from an exact model and configuration of mine. I just need to marry the donor car radio to mine.
I know how to enter to engineering mode but i don't know how to synch the replacement radio.
I don't want to go to my nearest dealer. Last time I check in with 2 issues, they keep the car for a week. and I had to pickup the car because they charge me $700 just for diagnostics and want me to pay another $800 to keep looking for a check engine light P0179. Please locals avoid Cuttler Bay Mercedes they are white collar crooks.

To all members every time you replace a part containing keypad and/or switch buttons experiment with removal and save if possible.
last post on this thread shows a company that can remove it

even take to Mercedes dealer and they said they can’t take it off, only if they had purchased it from them, I don’t know what else to do.
