I got another notice telling me my warranty has expired even though it has not, I brought my car home in October of 2010, and I'm expecting warranty
coverage until 2014....
anyone else getting these 'notices'?
The first time I called and told them they were off by a couple of years....
think it's some sort of scandal?

I received two notices, within days. One was from MB, but their records but they said their records were incorrect. The second notice, which looked very similar to the MB notice, was from a 3rd party, but included all the information the MB notice had. I didn't bother calling on that one.
Perhaps MB needed to boost year end revenue and sold 2 year owner's lists for a little extra cash.

I get these all the time for my MB and other vehicles. Basically a company purchases lists of vehicles and owners information from state DMV's and then start sending out "offers." This info. will have model, VIN, etc. So it looks like it comes from manufacturer when it does not.
Every communication I have received from MBUSA has been on a large card with lots of pictures and graphics or in an actual letter with MB logos, etc.
I did receive one last month with an offer to extend my warranty at a special (unspecified) rate if I did so by Dec. 31, whereas current expires Nov. 2013.
If you want to extend warranty I would check with your dealer or MBUSA.

manufactures warranty
so is the manufactures warranty 2 or 3 years?? i have a 2010 c220 BlueEFFICIENCY sport which was registered 18/5/2010 and i a am having problems with the cd/sat nav not reading discs, would that be covered??

I too bought the extended warranty for my 2010 E350 as I'm planning on keeping it in the family for years, and I constantly get "offers" from both MB and other warranty sellers.
I've found that my dealer and MB and in-sync with the dates and such after I made a big deal when purchasing it to have the dates in writing from both sources.
For all of the messages from the "other" guys, I just promote their messages into my shredder bin ...
