will you guys be going for ELW?

I have a c63 and since its an amg I have bought ELW for it. but for the E350... I'm not sure if that is necessary.

thoughts?

Depends on your usage and luck. Three days ago I bought a '11 E350 with less than 28K on the clock and 2 1/2 years left on warranty. I drive less than 5K miles/yr and after researching reliability for the yr/model decided it's a solid machine and to forgo extended warranty. But I usually repair my own cars. What will your usage pattern be?

That's pretty low usage, I personally wouldn't bother. That being said, how lucky to you feel?

I have a 2010 W212 with 52K on clock. I did not get extended warranty. It does not make sense, based on the car's reliability so far. You can do the service or get an Indy to do it for far less than the MB charge for the warranty.
My Indy does A services for $135 and B for $195. Even if 3 years is 2 B and 1 A....

What do you mean by CPO discount? Did you buy it used and was it a CPO car? If so then you already have an extended warranty of 5yrs100kmi. That can be extended to 6/120 or 7/135. 7/135 lists at about $2.4k at least in the US.

If it is not a CPO then you can extend the warranty (ELW) and there are a lot of different options.

What's the price for the 6yr/120K extension? Is there any negotiating?

For 1 year the list price is $1595 (see attached pic of brochure) and yes there is tons of room for negotiations. Many finance guys really stick to their guns, but there are a few that deal pretty easily. Check out this thread for some names:

https://mbworld.org/forums/general-m...arranty-2.html

Having said this I am not sure how it goes if you try to buy the extension to the CPO warranty after you already bought the car, I think you might have something like 30 days. If you call about it let us know what they say.

see pic of brochure in this thread:
