Warranty void?
Hey brahs! Umm so my warranty is potentally
being voided, and I'm flipping the hell out. Long
story short, my car says ESC Inop.distronic, blind spot and basically all the safety driving features turn off. I told my SA that this only happens when I accelerate hard. As soon as I said the words "accelerate hard" he said you are not supposed to be doing that, and that is grounds for warranty dismissal. I literally don't understand what I can do. I don't abuse my car at all, i have taken to the speed limiter on occasion, but I don't do that type of thing everyday. What can I possibly do? I know once a car is givin a status 8, warranty is voided. I really don't want that to happen, because I don't think I have done anything wrong. Am I SOL?

Nothing but bull crap, they can't not void a warranty for hard acceleration, he was tryning to get out of doing the work to the car, contact the corperate office regarding his words to you. When ever you have to speed up in traffice to over take another vehicle you accelerate hard.

I had the same ESC issue under similar circumstances (hard acceleration in passing situation). They replaced the accelerator pedal. No problems since the repair. Voided warranty is complete and utter BS.

Should not accelerate the car....what crap...
I would not trust that dealership again. Find another one if you can.
MB should be "voiding" that dealership's license to service their products.

If you generally like the dealer and it is convenient to get to, I recommend speaking to the dealer general manager first, then the owner, and then escalating to MBUSA, if necessary.
However, it seems to be resolved (repaired under warranty) from your reply in this other thread:

What's confusing me is that you started this thread after the other thread.

Ha no it's not even like that! I have had this problem for about a week. I searched up "ESC inoperative" and a couple of threads came up. I was hoping to find another reason to why this could be happening, found the one I commented on and thought I could give some advice.

So you own a car that is designed to be driven in a much more aggressive manner, on a daily basis mind you, than on any of the ordinary roads that we have here in the United States and the SA tells you your warranty is void for accelerating hard? What a total joke!
First speak to the owner of the dealership. If that doesn't resolve the issue, give MBUSA a call. The SA is way out of line. I have to agree with everyone else that this is an absurd position for the SA to take.

Haha I'm not trying to hide anything from you guys! Just didn't explain myself further as I should have. Was a bit freaked out yesterday! But do feel alot better knowing that my SA can't void my warranty due to hard acceleration!

Did you contact MBUSA? If so, what did they say? They are the ones who can or cannot void a warranty. However, they rely a lot on dealers information in making that decision.

I don't think they are open on weekends. I think I'm going to talk to the manager of the dealership first. However if the manager chooses not to hear me out, then MBUSA will be getting a call from me this week!

Mercedes built your car with the parts it has. It should not matter how you drive it as it can only do what Mercedes made it to do. If any part fails during warranty it is for Mercedes to stand behind their own promise.
It is absolute nonsense to claim warranty is void if the driving aids fail during hard acceleration. The car cannot accelerate faster than Mercedes made it to do so this should not void any warranties and it does not.
Some driving aids are designed to work up to some speed limit but here in U.S. We can only dream going that fast. And at those speeds in Germany the systems don't fail, they just stop doing what they do at slower speeds.

Some questions.
How long has your SA been at that dealership?
Do they ever want to sell you a car?
Did your SA work for Pontiac in a prior life and is that where he learned his skills at dealing with service customers?
I would talk to someone who is interested in future revenue from you at that dealership if there is no closer alternative.
His comments are pure stupidity.
Oh yes, Your Avatar is freeky. I am guessing that is what you are going for.
