New Owner with very important question

Hi everyone. I'm new to the MB world with my 2014 E350. I have one burning question. WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO PUT MY SUNGLASSES?? My number one disappointment is there is no storage for my sunglasses. Where do you guys put them?

Yeah, same problem here...just bought a GLE SUV and the sunglass holder it has is really small...doesn't fit my larger Oakleys, just my thin eye glasses that I use for night driving. Poor design...while on that subject, why is one cup holder smaller than the other, wouldn't it be better to have two of the same size. Sorry for the rant, now I leave my sun glasses in the center console in the sunglass case. Go figure!!??

To the OP: Pretty car! Is that Indigo Blue?

I bought and installed one of these in my C sedan but ultimately I very seldom used it. I wear prescription sunglasses and the frames (Randolph) with lenses were too big for the holder to close completely. I didn't want them falling out on me, into the car or, worse still, out the window (least likely but stranger things have happened) so I usually just kept my sunglasses in their case and stashed in the door pocket or the C's tiny console storage area.

I forgot to remove it when I traded my C in on my E but didn't lose sleep over it. I don't think I'll be getting one for the E since there's more storage space. YMMV but if you don't wear Rx sunglasses the factory holder will probably suffice. Now if only my car came with those underseat storage bins...

I bought one of the sunglasses holders that replaces the driver side handle, works fine, even for Rx glasses.

I like the look of the sunglass holder. Hopefully I won't need the handle until I'm in my senior years.

I thought about putting them in the under seat area but I thought that would be more for an umbrella or my yet to be opened cans of beer. Thanks for the replies.

Keep the umbrella on the passenger side. The underseat storage is perfect for glasses.... well maybe also a couple beers too.

If you live in the united states you cannot buy the sunglass holder that goes where the oh **** grab bar is. They do not sell it in the good old USA. You can get it on ebay or you can call a Canadian dealer and order from them and they will ship to you. They come in different colors. I use mine all the time and I love it. And being a senior I never used the Oh **** grab bar anyway. If you need a picture of it let me know.

I would say the sunglasses are normal aviation sunglasses. But definitely not Harry Carry size.

I thought that Marseilles was the epitome of a pluralistic utopian society? N'est ce pas?

The lack of a better than the seat storage sunglasses option also bothered me. You'd figure for a car with this kind of price they'd form an engineering committee to solve this 10 different ways. But then, German cars didn't get serviceable cupholders more than 10 years ago - to quote Robin Williams: "Vaht else you vant us to do, put a steering vheel on ze fridge?"

Aston Martins come with their own umbrella, unfortunately it is stored in the boot. So, during a flash downpour you get soaked whilst retrieving it. ha!

I bought the sunglass holder on EBay as well. It was about $30 shipped and took about 15 mins to install, thanks to the fine instructions on this forum.
It holds my Oakley prescription sunglasses without any issues. Only complaint is they get hot if the car is parked out in the sun in the summer.

Keep mine in the console. I made a couple of cardboard boxes to go inside and create holders for different items. Rather than just the big box.

It's not a matter IF something will happen, but rather WHEN.

They took everything from my car about a year ago. parked in my home in an underground parking (at level -3)

I caught the little sh*ts on my dashcam , but the police never managed to identify them
they took my ipod classic, sunglasses , remote for the parking and even the loose change (!)

After that they just strolled away with smiles on their faces .. it was a good shopping day
for them!

Since then I put a fake alarm led in my car, plus alarm stickers on the window.

And in the middle console I put in a double bottom. underneath it is my ipod,
so when I open the console it looks like it's empty...

But please ya'll; come to Marseille. it really IS a lovely city - Just come by train ;-)
