It's not hard at all, I followed this video. May be slightly different on other cars but just be sure to use your original center bracket.

Must be different designs.
On my 2014 E250 the grille was hold mostly by "shark teeth" straps that give you some adjustment before final bolting.
I remember that it took me a while to figure out how to pull the old straps out. Found small flat screwdriver that slid between the teeth and allow pulling them out.
I noticed that W212 have poor quality plastic. Several 4years old parts simply shatter in my fingers, so be careful.
Just like my 2008 model who is having some plastic clips reused from 30 years old W124, the newer cars still seem to suffer from global economy, where lot of MB parts are produced in former Eastern Block or even in China.

No AMG unfortunately, and we'll just leave it as that

That's not the W212 face-lifted version.

Again, on my 2014 car it was couple of securing bolts on top and the rest was just snap-on brackets. No bumper touching.

Hi.
So to understand you correctly, there is no need to pull of the whole bumber to change the grill on an W212 facelift 2013-2016?

Does it differ for the cars with AMG body style? I was told that my sport's grille was riveted to the bumper.

If you’re talking about strip to lower front bumper it’s clipped on, carefully pry them off using plastic wedge. Post VIN so I have a reference for future inquiries, I will also supply MB data card.

VIN: WDD2122011B331718

Thanks a lot.
So i need making few hooks, found instruction on youtube too, but the guy was only using 2 points/holes on the inside for pulling out the vent. Could be a slight difference in design on facelift models.

It was this one i was reffering to, lower spoiler :

Need to find a cheaper version though, or do an update for same money and get a wider one

Was probobly reffering to part 208+209 as a more sporty trim if 207 is not needed in that case, or if i find cheaper 207 that will do it for me

I have a another challenge too.. A rubber seal on a left arm rest. I see its held by screws, but a rubber seal is nowhere to find, i have not tried though at a local Mercedes dealer:

Is there any chance that this seal has a org part nr?

FYI, the PDF for sport grill does not mention there are 4 tiny torx (t5?) screws that also hold the chrome mounding to the bumper cover. It isn’t just the tabs. They’re located at the corners and top center.

“Remove chrome molding on radiator grille (9) from radiator grill” just shows using a mounting wedge only. This is incorrect. I followed this and pry’d so hard that it broke one mounting, that’s when I saw the tiny screw. I removed the other 3 torx screws correctly. I’ll snap a pic for when I re-assemble everything.

I took everything apart, naked bumper for repaint.

.. All i need (for now) is to take out and replace the grill (bought one on ebay with the star and chrome details on it) without removing the surrounding chrome molding which i hope is intact on the inside.
I had hoped it could be done without taking of the entire bumber 😒

It is possible, however, I don’t recommend it as it is so much harder prying the tabs out. The bumper isn’t that difficult to remove. It’s much easier with the bumper off and releasing the tabs from inside. The chrome has to come out though. Rivets are soft and easy to drill out.

Here is a video of someone removing it without taking the bumper off:

This is a good video, but I wish someone would make one swapping the sport grille to the luxury one. I settled for the illuminated star, but I'd love the luxury grille and hood ornament. It just does not seem like it would be easy.

Looking at this video i dont see them drilling out rivets on the bumber :

So in order to change the grill need to take off the chrome mounding off the bumber and only possible to do from inside because of the screws?

Still not sure why chrome mounding has to come off if it is only attached to bumber and the grill itself is attached to chrome and bumber. Should it not be possible to just take of the grill from the inside out of the chrome mounding and the bumper or have i misunderstood here something?
I will check each option anyway cause it seems that it can be some difference between bumbers on different facelift models..

Removal of bumper you don’t need to drill out rivets. Removal of grill, you do. I attached the picture with the locations.

Hi @konigstiger I hope you can help me
From the image you have attached, it seems the facelift W212 come in two different type of bumpers and two types of grill?
