Rear passenger door won't open

hi all,
The rear passenger door on my car started to act up.
It won't open when I unlock the door. I tried to open with the door handle but it just won't budge..
Has anyone have the same problem before?
Thanks..

Does the lock pin come up when you unlock?

The lock pin moves up when unlock and it comes down when i push the lock button.
The door just wont open.
I'm thinking about removing the panel from the inside to see what is going on.

Does door handle move easily or can you feel "linkage"?

Does it open from inside?

The door handle moves normal like the front one. I didnt feel any "easy feeling" like you said but i still couldn't open the door either from the inside or outside.

This one is pretty weird. A door is just a door.

If you seldom use this door, I guess the weatherstripping can seal the door to the sill. But you have pulled strongly on it, I'm sure.

That back seat covers a lot of the door panel. I question whether you can get the panel loose where covered, without taking out the rear seat bench.

Unplug (arrow) and disconnect electrical connector for several minutes in an attempt to reset door internals / door lock catch. Worst case removal scenarios, see attachments.

Ok
So I tried to remove the electrical connector but couldn't.
I pushed the tab loose and pulled the sleeve but still couldn't remove the connector.
The next thing is to remove two screws.. that is my next step..

hi all,
I was able to open the panel but still couldn't open the door..

I pulled the metal cable.. Tried to open from the outside but still couldn't open the freaking door..
It drives me nut....

I hit the surrounding area of the door handle hoping that can release the latch but no help..
The last resort is to drill out all the rivets and remove the aluminum plate to take a look inside..

I'm surprised you were able to get the panel off without damaging it, good show. Unfortunately it appears to be "Driller Time"

At this point I’d take the car to an MB indie or the dealer

I did some more research and came up with one of the root cause... it's the door actuator..It didn't activate when I unlock the door either using the key fob or the outside door handle..
I found a few used one on Ebay and they are not that expensive..
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-C3...4AAOSw2fNcoqTN
But let me check all the fuse one more time before I drill the rivet out ... just to make sure...

Hello 2011WhiteE350,
I have the exact same problem on the same door.
Please tell me if you ever got it open and whet you had to do.
I want to drill out the rivets but not for nothing.
If you could give me any more info, I sure would appreciate it.
Thank you!

you can buy bootleg copies of the WIS (Workshop Information System) on fleabay etc, for $10-30. most come as a preconfigured Windows VM you run under VirtualBox, and it takes quite a bit to get used to finding your way around it. Mercedes themselves only make it available as a online subscription service, aimed at independent repair shops, its like $15000/year or something.

I've got the same problem on the opposite door.
It was opening using the inner door handle but the seller put the child lock on and shut the door, now it's stuck shut.
I guess I need to strip the door and drill the rivets out
How hard was the panel to get off with the door closed ?
Did you ever fix it ?

Lucky I haven't had to deal with this yet. It seems the door no longer unlocks.

Guess what controls the tik-tok??
The DCM module with unsoldered pins

It's also possible the lock itself is worthless...

Go for easiest first!

The door is unlocked but the child lock enabled makes the inner handle useless and the outer handle is floppy

ouch, that is one weird combination!
Time to drill the inner plate.

They found a way to design a door handle mechanism that gently wears out after x-many cycles then fails.

These guys are really amazing... LoL
I did not know this problem has been so prevalent.

I hope we can get couple good pics of the latch actuator. I am curious to see how MB designed their limited life handle.

Sawed the handle off and put a wire coathanger through the hole and pulled the latch open
Turned off the child lock for now but found a used latch assembly on ebay
