Question Looking for side skirt "chrome" strips for 2014 E550

I have a designo Diamond White 2014 E550 4Matic Sedan.

The side skirt trim area is body color which is great, until you see all the little wear and tear and paint damage right on the protruding edge, especially on the drivers side.

It seems the E550 didn't come with the chrome / silver covers for the accent "alcove" area, but it seems the extra protection / look was reserved for the E63 S models, ha.

I just found this out. Does anyone know if I have to buy the entire side skirt and have it installed, or can I buy just the chrome strips and basically bond them on?

If I bought the car new, I would have likely wrapped the area in a clear film, but alas, I bought it used with a few prior attempts at a quick-fix paint repair.

Here are some visual examples:

2014 E550 example without the silver or chrome trim:https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/309181329

2014 E63 (NON "S") without the silver or chrome trim:

2014 E63 S example with the silver or chrome trim:https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/308081910

Thank you for your assistance!

To my knowledge, NO W212s came from the factory with the chrome inserts... That has not prevented some owners from adding their own by buying the Chrome tape available from Amazon.
Amazon Amazon

If I were to tolerate being on my artificial knees for a couple hours, I would have added this myself some time ago. (Not sure I want to remove the skirts to do this.) Meantime, I have to be satisfied with this photoshop version...

What I am looking at, and have researched just a bit, is that this isn't aftermarket chrome tape.

In the 2014 (first year of W212 facelift) brochure, it shows this on an E63 S (wagon version pictured, but it's also on sedans)

I think you would need to buy the complete rocker trim with the metal insert.

Awesome, thank you all for your great replies and sharing the information, I really appreciate it! I have the information, and part numbers I need to begin to order parts to fix this painted high-wear area with a trim piece that should likely have been there all along, in some color at least. I've learned there are three color options, and I will pick the one that matches the remainder of the chrome / silver accent OE trim.

fwiw, my 2016 E350 wagon with the 'luxury' package has chrome inserts on the side skirts, came that way from the factory AFAIK

you can just see them here in this side view picture...

ah, but those strips are on the doors not the skirt.
