Got the LAUNCH Creader Elite 2.0 BBA today (I know, I need counseling). But setting it up and updating takes a while. Going to see if it does anything more than just the BENZ version -- probably not. But I like the faster processor and format better than the 1.0 version. Now I will have one for each car. $109 shipped and NO sales tax collected was a pretty good deal. Not sure why they didn't add tax.

I also looked at the
scanner by otofix but don't want to spend $120 every year to update it after the first 2 years. I'm currently looking at the thinkscan 689/689bt
. Its a little more money but has lifetime updates and runs Launch's software.

UPDATE COVERAGE....
"Free lifetime updates" is a bit of hot air...
A better description would be "all updates are free"
When the software stack gets upgraded the previous version stops being supported.
This is in contrast with PRO devices where all updates are expensive until platform features are no longer supported.
In the end its a good product that gets obsolete. For us it's "one car one scanner". Our car software does not change so scanner update are not really important.

The Launch Creader Elite 2.0 BBA unit I ordered last weekend arrived 3 days later, shipped from somewhere in New Jersey. Free shipping, no sales tax (I think small businesses that sell under some threshold via mail order are exempt from collecting tax), and only $109. Setup took only a couple minutes, and then it needed to update its files -- about another 30 minutes. The MB version 50.36 and BMW version 51.50 are identical to the versions I have installed on the two other Launch scanners I bought earlier this year, the Creader Elite 2.0 MB and 2.0 BMW ($149 each from Amazon) The BBA unit came with a carry pouch that holds scanner and cable, and the buttons are a big improvement to the somewhat sensitive touchscreen on the earlier version scanners. This is a great scanner for the money -- it does everything my $600 Topdon AD900BT does without the clutter of dozens of automobile brands I've never heard of. Amazon has this BBA version listed for $209, and has a long description of its capabilities for anyone wanting more info.

Hi everyone! I finally got mine from my friend in the US and just realized why it was so cheap. It's a V1 unit (orange and in portrait mode). In any case it seems to work just fine. One question for other users, has anyone figured out how to get the reports and data logs out of the unit? I've tried connecting an SD card on it but cannot find a way to transfer the files to it or my computer. Pictures and reports I've noticed you can share them via the Lauch cloud server, but there is no option for the data logs. Do I have to make the logs with the SD inserted and it will record on it automatically?

During setup, it should have asked for a wifi password and your email address. After running a scan, you can select send the report, and it will be routed through Launch to your email inbox within a minute.
