E250 brake components

Giving up. On my 2014 e250 the front rotors are drilled and vented, rear are just vented. Tried looking up the part numbers but everything either says fronts or no description of front or rear (MB stock numbers). Brembo website just list size specs and OEM part number equivelant.

Vin WDDHF9HB3EA905805

Looking for the stock part numbers for the disks and pads. Wear sensor I think Ive got.

Thanks,

Have you looked at an MB genuine parts retailer ?
At least this link should help you retrieve the latest superseded parts number you want.

do me a favor, don't use the OEM pad compounds, it's like trying to slow down our car with an end mill. I don't know how fast you drive but I can cook front rotors on a 350-360mm equipped E550, G550, and S550 in like 20k miles of fairly inconsiderate driving. Nothing wrong with Brembo. They were the OE partner for a lot of the modern MB braking systems, and if youre Porsche guy, like all of them. The consumeables are often made by Zimmerman/ATE/Textar/Jurid for MB but the system itself is Brembo so I would trust them with my life. Hell Pagid/Textar/Brembo/Jurid/Akebono/Centric/ATE have all stopped me from triple digits without anything on fire or falling off for years now. The anti corrosion finish on the factory Zimmermans (Z-Wear) is just primer and it cooks off after the first stop. The Brembo UV coating is water based and it leaves a nicer finish. You are not supposed to use brakekleen on these rotors since it eats into the coating.

All rotors will be internally vaned (vented), you have the drilled fronts, sports package. Akebono is a huge upgrade to the pads. The rotors you can buy whatever you want as long as they're high carbon and coated. All of the european brands have to be approved by ECE R90 anyway to be legal to use on the road.

To answer your question specifically though so I don't come off as stupid it's

Front Rotor 000421301207
Rear Rotor 2114230912

Front Pad 0074205820
Rear Pad 0074206020

Yep looked at two different MB dealer parts sites, one local. The link you posted goes to steering colum stuff. Look at the brakes section for the rotors, not specific at all for front vs rear (well it has front but not rear). Thanks though,

if you're not happy with the Akebono Euro ceramic pads after break-in I'll pay for the ATE semi-metallic guys.

Thank you for your service!

Appreciate the offer but its a ok. Found out my local Napa carries the akebono and the zimmermans so will probably go that route give it a shot. Im not racing or doing over 80mph usually, just a commuter guy so as long as they work good for everyday stuff I am happy. That being said there are many times on my commute that stopping quickly and avoiding things flying down the freeway is something to be prepared for.

Thanks for the info.

Extremely welcome. I love forums.

Those specific ones are absolutely a massive upgrade to the OE compound, I run them on all the fast cars with no issue and I pretty much exclusively drive bad. The initial brake torque is equal to OEM, and it will improve pedal feel (stiffer) because the material compresses less so they'll be less touchy. The OEM compound is already great for pedal feel because it's essentially a wad of metal. You will triple or quadruple your rotor life going ceramic. Lowest amount of dust on the market, and ceramic dust comes off with a dry towel. Much quieter through the entire lifespan too as long as you grease your tabs and backing plates for the long haul.

At NAPA, you can use coupon code SAVEMORE to save 20% off, and do in-store pickup or get free 1-day shipping. Not to nanny you, but make sure you get the front drilled ones for the sport trim that you have, 400365420.

Do follow up I'm emotionally invested in the outcome of your brake job.

I ditto Akebono pads. Put them on W210 and after making 130k miles on them, I measured them before sale, to estimate I have about 300,000 miles of life left on them.
The main issue on older OE pads was dust. Now my W212 was dealer serviced by PO, so I assume the pads are OE, yet they make no dust.
Local dealer advised me to change pads 3 years ago, yet I still have plenty of thickness to go. I make 6000 miles annually on sedan thought.

For the E250, this actually isn't true. I have a sport package with front drilled rotors (vented) but the rear rotors are solid (and thinner than E350). For whatever reason, MB cheaped out on the rear caliper/rotor for the E250. Pads are the same size though as the E350. I ran into this issue a while ago when doing my brakes as I assumed the regular E350 sport rotor matched up. I called FCPeuro (where I bought my parts) and they have since updated their website with the correct part numbers.

This is the kit they now have for the rears: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...e-000423101207

I think MB figured out, the 4-cylinder diesel owners buy the car for economy, not for spirited driving and that's the reason for smaller brakes.
Good side, it will accept 16" wheels for better comfort.

I was talking about the vaning, not the drilled holes in that last post but holy moly I have never seen a solid rotor before on these cars. Thats pretty interesting!

Went with the akebono ceramic pads all around. Replaced front rotors with Brembo all from Napa. Got a pretty good deal with something like 25% off (cant remember exactly). Due to the day I was originally planning on doing it decided not to order the rear rotors.

After the first front on figuring things out it went smooth. The rattle clips are the only real pain on my car. Speaking of which found out the passenger rear was missing its rattle clip. Got two on order. Not sure how long its been missing but my guess is for some time.

Anyhow only 115miles on them so far and stopping is really good now. No issues that I can see so far.

Nice to see you're satisfied with the brake job. It reminds me that I should have gone with the ceramic brake components as well
Besides, kinda off topic but where's the star wars smiley gone ? That would be a proper icon for the reply above
