Anyone received the 2017 E300 (W213) Luxury Model yet? <Delivery Date>
Hello,
I am still waiting on my 2017 - luxury model that was ordered, rather put-in as a new build on Aug-02, 2016 (I believe they placed it around Aug-10th maybe). Its the 2017 E-Class E300 (W213), with the luxury package/model/version, with the Q3 Option (not P1, P2 or P3). [Q3 is same as P3, without the head-up display]. I was told, I would get a Q3 sooner than a P3.
Its been about 3 months now, and no sign of the car. I was initially told 6-8 weeks when I place a build/order.
This is my first time buying a mercedes; so I do not know much about the 'Mercedes World', as to how this company & its dealers generally operate. This forum has a good number of mercedes owners (sometimes 3-4 cars purchased from this same company). Can you please advise the time it takes for such type of a new order/build.
And if anyone have already received a similar car, please chime-in
Thanks for your help,
J

I'm pretty sure P3 and Q3 cars are taking longer due to a limited supply of parts. Not sure f you got the second 12.3 inch display or not but that could be a factor why its taking longer.
With the luxury model E, I've started seeing them at dealerships already but there aren't nearly as many as the sport models.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I got the second 12.3" display (instrument cluster) as well.
What does it generally take (how long) for a new type of model when ordered/built to arrive for delivery?

I took my Mercedes in for service today and talked with the sales Rep about when a new E Wagon could be ordered. He checked to see if there is a sedan similar to the Wagon I want to order.
There is a black Luxary E sedan with Black interior and P 3 in Oklahoma City for sale.

We ordered our P3, with the 2nd display on July 1st. It was built last week (takes 3 days) and is on a ship right now. No extras being added when it arrives in port. Don't have and exact date, but should show up the week of Thanksgiving. Depends on how busy the dealer is when it arrives there as to if it will take a day or day and a half to prep it.
Been a long wait. Our first Merc also. They originally told us two months when he ordered it. We've always order our vehicles, but have never had one take this long. The new car buying excitement has worm off because of the delay. Hate getting a new vehicle right before the snow starts falling. Since we ordered it right after the unveiling party, we didn't even get a good deal on it.
Good luck.

Ordered luxury model E300 w/ P3 in mid 8/16...Was told by dealer at end of 10/16 that ETA is currently mid Jan 2017. No new explanation for delay, but was previously told the 2nd display was causing bottleneck.

I very much appreciate your frustration and if you have not done so already, you should have a discussion with the GM of the dealership. Tell him/her that you want the car re-priced to the new current market pricing of about 8% discount or you will cancel the order and go somewhere else to get a car.
If you are not that upset to play hardball with the dealer, then let it go and it will be delivered.

Nice info from everyone - I sincerely do appreciate you folks sharing the details. My dealer posted a note to me that my car is being shipped and is in the ocean. I should be getting it around the first week of december (again depends on how busy the dealer is going to be). Hopefully I get it on the time that they promise this time. It will be a little over 4 months if it actually gets delivered this time. Shall keep you guys posted with the exact duration after I get it. DMRDSM and johnmc1 - thank you for your posts on the timelines/updates!

Followed up w/ dealer again on Dec 6, 2016 on a Aug 2016 special order luxury model E300, fully loaded--ETA now moved back from mid-Jan 2017 to end of Jan 2017/early Feb 2017. Latest reason for long delivery time/delay is the Germans celebrate an extended Christmas holiday.
Happy Holidays Everyone.
