Mercedes Me Issues

Hey all,

Since I got my E about a week ago, I've been able to use Mercedes Me perfectly fine (except remote start) up until yesterday. Now it says to call to activate even though I did that already when I got the car last week. Is anyone else having issues with the app?

I called the "activate"number it said to call on the app to see what's up and they said I was already activated. They also said they're "updating the app" which when the guy said it, it sounded like an excuse, but he did say one of the updates to the app is supposed to fix the remote start function from the app.

I went through that same cycle of BS for about three weeks before the Mercedes Me app / MBrace all worked and properly reflected my subscription status.

I also got multiple excuses from the call center. At about week 4 of ownership, it all finally worked as described. It's kind of sad, really, not exactly "the Best or Nothing..."

Mbrace is just horrible. I'm currently trying to get refunded for my subscription for these exact same problems. Their techs are rude and take zero responsibility for the shortcomings of the product. EVERY single time they will tell you to take your vehicle back to the dealer, when in fact it's an Mbrace issue. I'm now also getting the "reactivate" message. Send2benz seems to appear and disappear from the app, lock/unlock is really spotty (and takes FOREVER) and remote start is almost useless.

Ugh so it looks like something that won't get fixed anytime soon. On mine, the app doesn't work but the wifi hotspot in my E works fine (a bit on the slow side but still acceptable) and the concierge works too.

Mbenz & Mercedes me

MBrace and Mercedes me is a disgrace now and 3 years ago. Amazing how these companies are clueless when an app doesn't work and they do not address it. Should be corrected on the 2nd complaint. The last version allowed send2benz from Google maps but only on a desktop. Very handy when plotting a trip. Send2benz on the app works to a degree. They should use Google which is infinitely better then anything they dream up.

I agree, the app for send2benz works only sporadically. I have not tried the PC send2benz yet for my 2017 CLS550. It worked from my PC with my last car, a 2012 ML350. Are you saying I can no longer send2benz using my PC? I will try it later today but I can not believe they would remove that capability and restrict send2benz to a mobile device only.

Hi All...I expect I'll be taking delivery of an E300 in couple of wks...these prior comments about MBrace and MercedesMe are disconcerting. Any suggestions for a new car owner re: these features...Any suggestions to get the dealer to take 'ownership' of these features which they 'sell'.

You will find the dealer very accommodating but if the part/app/process is faulty they will be ineffective. Benz does not respond to customers properly especially with the Mbenz subsidiary. That group is not up to today's standards.

My app started "working" again a few days ago and remote start still doesn't work (like before) but, it keeps saying my windows and sunroof are not closed.

The dealer set up Mercedes App on my phone and demonstrated all its features. I've had no issues.

The dealer also walked me through setting up my trial for XM, SOS, concierge, and entertainment packages. No issues with any of these either.

This thread prompted me to test the Mercedes Me application again . Lock/Unlock, Start/Stop, Locate all worked fine. I noticed that the Start function now shows the interior temp of the car which it did not the last time we used the feature a couple weeks ago. Haven't tried sending a destination to the car yet...

I'm having issues with the app itself timing out after about 3 minutes of the spinning circle and saying "loading". My car could be warming up during this time. Anyone else having this issue and know of any fixes?

I experience the time out from time to time. It is a network issue - most likely a dropped packet. If I don't get it up and running within 1 minute, I close the app and start it again.

Hi,

I've been on the phone with Mercedes 6 times in three weeks. They told me to delete the app and reinstall it. To push the signal button on the mirror., to make sure I had a half a tank of gas and more. Corporate then told me to take it to the dealer. Tomorrow it will be there three days. The service department told me GM Onstar has the same problems, who cares, I didn't buy a Chevy for a third the cost. I was then told that there are a lot of intermediate steps, that the signal goes to Germany and then back to the states. I told him that is not MY problem. When I bought the car NO ONE told me that the remote start DOESN'T WORK SO GOOD. It's a Mercedes, so I thought I was getting a quality car. I had a BMW X5 before this which didn't have the remote start. This feature was one of the reasons I got this car. As an aside, the Navigation on the X5 puts this to shame. My old Garmin works better then this.

I will keep you posted on the response I get from Mercedes. I am really SURPRISED. If they hadn't perfected the system why did they put it out?

nothing works 100% as it should (not the app, nor the website):

-updates that you are downloading (via website) than hang/get interrupted,
-car shown as being unlocked when it's not,
-unable to lock/unlock car,
-info under "trips" not correct at all,
-often slow to connect to (app or website),
-addresses sent to car that do not show up in car,
-and last but not least: Mercedes sending out emails informing u about new features that never come to be (managing your profiles for instance)

I also find it strange that the iPhone app has less features than their website (web based application)

The only feature of Mercedes Me that I've found to be useful is "Send2Benz" — when it works. Today I sent the same address to the car three times from my office. Although the app confirmed that the address had been sent, it wasn't there when I started the car. I then sent it again from inside the car, and again it was confirmed, and again it didn't show up in the car. I finally gave up and used the voice command, but the Mercedes Me app interfered with that until I shut the app down.

Finding of Fact: Mercedes Me is flawed to the point of being useless.

Conclusion: Mercedes Me (U.S. Edition) sucks.

can you do it via the web based app? (route planning) ?
this way the address get stored in the car & you call it up under the POI app (this has always worked for me)

If you send it via the iPhone up it does not get stored, but simply pops up on the screen (when it works)

I THINK that if you send it via https://wego.here.com it also gets stored in POI (not 100pct sure, so will try later
wegohere is also available as app

Mercedes Me has been an issue since 2014 when I first bought an E Class. This app and the entire method stinks. The app works sometime, many time it will not open. Remote start is a 50-50 shot at best. SendToBenz is a poor replacement of Send to Car from google that worked beautifully on the Lexus' I've owned before. Sit in a hotel find the location/s on google maps and send them to the car. Mercedes is arrogant and thinks they can improve something that works. Arrogant comes to mind. What is worse this issue is going on 5 years.

For the US version, the only things I use are: Locate My Car (works ~90% of the time), Remote lock (works most of the time), and Remote Start (very hit-or-miss...but has been quite good over the past couple of weeks). Still a major letdown compared to what it could be... Hey Merc -- go buy whatever Tesla's using. You're selling parts to them; you should probably buy some back from them -- the ones which actually work.
