I haven't. My opinion is based upon pictures.

I also haven't slept on a sheet of plywood. Based upon pictures, I don't want to.

Maybe if I tried it, I would like it? IDK.

I think the W214 is a beautiful and very smoothly designed car. For myself, I don't care for the interior design or the taillights, the rest is great. JMO.

If you read my post again I mentioned "in some countries"

Indeed. I first read "new S-Class S450-500" and thought forthcoming 223. In any case, don't recall hearing too much in the 222 forum about this.

To me, the Mercedes looks more mature and solid, whereas the BMW looks more youthful and edgy.

To me the rims on that BMW look awful.

Agreed. And the black trim underneath all around is an odd decision by BMW. I think the W214 is the winner, both interior and exterior. Just please bring the luxury grille to North America!

Yeah, it is very odd. It makes it look like an all-terrain version. Not digging it.

Fully agreed!

I’d also like to see a comparison of the 5er interior against the non-superscreen E interior. I think most of us agree that the “basic” interior is much more pleasing without the stupid passenger display and extra piano black in lieu of what would be a wood finish.

Tesla have shown that cars do not need a nice interior for it to sell.

Not a big fan of the W214, but hands down better than new 5-series, which looks like AI designed it.

Interesting so BMW's "passenger screen" has a privacy film to not distract the driver so unlike MB's approach so be interesting if it is too dim to view in direct sunlight.

BMW does not have a passenger screen in any vehicle. Are you referring to Porsche’s?

All good, I guess the reason why we don't hear about it is because most of us folks on this forum are from North America and mainly the USA.

Wouldn't a grill swap be pretty simple?

Not exactly simple. I imagine it requires removing the entire bumper.

True I forgot about that and not to mention the design of amg line bumper and the luxury line is different. Although I think avantgarde trim does have the amg line grille but avantgarde bumper I think.
