Notice of new software update 3.2.1 available
Debating on whether or not to download this. It says the update is for improvements of the infotainment system and it takes 120 minutes to download OTA. So nervous one of these updates could have bugs and lead to issues such as blue screen or blank screen. So far since I’ve had the car in November I’ve had no problems yet.

I got the update notice today and also hesitate to install it. I've not had any issues. I'm taking a 11 hour road trip home in a few days and may install it on that trip once I'm closer to home. I may wait until I'm home, but I'm not going to shut off the car until it's done.

Yes it’s in the background. The only thing I need to do for it is enter my PIN code as I have it setup so the updates are not automatic but I took the risk on this one and downloaded it. Took about 2 hours. It’s done now. Can’t notice any changed yet so seems like nothing negative about it so far.

I installed the update a few days ago. It fixed my facial recognition camera. The system also boots noticeably faster when starting the car. It seems stable so far.
I also noticed my Tic Toc app is gone. I’m not sure if was gone before the update though.

software update
I got the update notice too. The instructions say to do the update while the car is running and it takes two hours. Does that mean I have to wait for a two hour drive to download it? Otherwise, can I stop the engine while the update is happening? Any other advice?

Houston I have a problem
I've been waiting for my car to update for the past 14 hours—at this rate, I could've learned to knit or become a gourmet chef! The downloading took quite a while, and now the installation is stuck at a suspenseful 35%. MB should consider hiring me to test their software—clearly, I'm qualified! I always have software issues.
Now, what are my options? Should I hit the reset button and risk turning my car into a costly paperweight,
or should I visit the MB Service Department and let the professionals have a crack at it?

As for your situation, with all the problems you have had, I would take it in to let the professionals deal with it.

I haven’t got in my car to check for the download yet but I hardly ever do any driving besides short trips. I’m wondering if it will download with just the ignition on (not engine running) with a maintainer hooked up?

It should as long as the main screen is powered up and running. Although, it may time out if you are not sitting there with it.

I had my car parked outside my office, and I left it running but checked on it periodically. Between the car turning itself off and me finding time to go out and restart it, the update took most of the morning.

It took 14 hours where you didn't interrupt it by turning the car off? I personally would not do that even though may say you can. It's best to let the update run fully without shutting the car off. When I eventually do it, that's my plan.
As for your situation, with all the problems you have had, I would take it in to let the professionals deal with it.

The software took nearly 19 hours to install. Unfortunately, I do not see any changes or progress regarding the issues with the MBUX,
which had raised my hopes. Sneaky MB; they sure know how to fool us.

i got the notice and did the update. it was seamless and i certainly didn't keep the car running. The app on my phone says the download is complete. The system does seem to download more quickly on start up but other than that i have not noticed any other changes good or bad..

Having said that, depending on what version you were on before, you may get a new feature. Problem is, the MBUX version is not displayed anywhere I can find in the system. The version it does show looks like more the build number rather than a version. Therefore, unless you had a prior update that shows the 3.x.x version, you have no baseline. I have no idea what version i was on since this will be my first update.

Fixed nothing on my 2025 GLC 300
Fixed absolutely no mbux issues. What a joke from MB. They should be ashamed. Can't wait to get rid of my first and last MB. Ford sync and BMW system is superior in every way. I did the update. Took about 4 hours.

The updates you receive, could include bug fixes or security updates(sort of like Windows on Mac updates where you do not see changes). New In Car OS are now subject to malware as well.
And updates could also be a preparation for more important features down the road. MB is integrating with Google services and NVIDIA so there should be more preparation and features updates.
