Installed the update. No sign of SoundDrive on any menu. I researched the intended operation and there is supposed to be an entry on the Media tab. Nothing there yet. I wonder if this is going to be managed as a Digital Extra?
Where in the app, or the car, can I find my current version #?
In the car under vehicle settings and "Info" tab.

Alternatively, there should be a changelog shown in the Mercedes-Benz app on the phone. Technically it should show when the update was installed and what version.

It's been two days since the car reported that the MBUX update had been successfully installed. I looked at the software information and I did not see a change in level. So, perhaps the installation did not complete even though it says that it did? Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I hadn't installed the update. It shows up in my MBUX and on my app but when I try to install it, the car says this update is no longer available.

The OTA has to occur before you get the opportunity to push the install button. It took about 30 minutes before the install panel appeared on the center display.
Hey guys, My EQE SUV 500 is still on RL_NTG7_E329.501_22411AC3. I believe this version is very old (probably 2023). I have asked the dealer/service centre, they say that they cant install any updates, if there is any update it will be visible in the car in MBUX under software updates. But MBUX says no updates available.
It's more likely your dealer won'tinstall any updates unless they can charge MBUSA for warranty work for this.
If you have experienced any sporadic odd behavior of your MBUX system or screen, then you should mention these items to the dealer, as it may be enough for your dealer to claim the upgrade would be warranty work. This is what happened in my case, which got me from E330 to E504 under warranty.
I believe OP may not be in US market, but strategy should be the same, bring up a bug in the system, such as the infamous self-resetting favorites screen.
Yes, I am not in US. India. That seems like a smart idea. Although the fear that i have is that, they might just decide to factory reset the MBUX first to see if resolved my concern. I'll have to make 2 trips then saying that the factory reset also didnt resolve the concern

MBUX 2.4 is media update (enables Dolby atmos codec) and now MBUX 2.6.1 (enables SoundDrive, I guess) are from localized parts of Mb like MBUSA and MBindia.
They are meaning crap updates what never work, I recommend ignoring them.
Mercedes Benz DE are the ones pulling together the actual software updates, your version number can be found at Settings - Information - System information
EXXX is your MB system version, which base version of what the screen, Instrument cluster, ADAS etc this is the one I’ve been trying to document and track changes. The other after the (.) period is your configuration version, like rear steer, Airmatic etc. which I’m not tracking.
check your MB version; E316 is from 2022; E330 is “MBUX 2.4” entertainment update from early 2023, E405 is from late 2023, E504 is from Early 2024, E505 is late 2024

In my experience dealers are very unhelpful and abrasive try asking to see what they say. Now that you know what’s what

A screenshot of my System information is earlier in the thread. Mine is E330 which apparently means MBUX 2.4. I can see that @HBerman is at E505, all up to date!
How do you know that the Exxx decodes to MBUX x.y?
My MBUX app says no updates available. Do I need to go to the dealer to get updated to E505?
