23 EQE 350 4Matic
Just leased. Drove it home last Tuesday and left for a weeks vacation! Back now and about to sit and set it all up, MercedesMe linking, etc.
Have 1 question. I don’t lock my doors when I’m in the house garage but noticed the handles stay out/lights around then handles stay lit. Does that drain the battery? Can I turn that off?
Assume I’d read about it in the manual but wanted to ask.
Excited to have the EV!

Welcome! The lights and handles shut off and close automatically. Always best to lock anyway. The battery drain is minimal though, you won't have to worry about it. Our EQEs are in our garage, I always lock them regardless. Saves the minimal drain on the 12V battery as well.

Sat a good 2 hours in the EQE dialing it all in. Is there a way to have the Sirius presets/favorites on the screen vs. having to click into favorites? Like the old MBUX system with the presets at the bottom.

I think the only way is to add it as a preset in the radio controls, so that it's one of your main radio favorites. I had FM and satellite favorites next to each other, until my satellite subscription lapsed and then the favorites disappeared. Given the awesome Android Auto integration, I just can't justify satellite radio with its relatively bad audio quality.

It does it if the car has been parked (and possibly locked?) for long enough. Though sometimes I've seen it do so within 5 minutes. I believe it's tied to the microphone setting that turns on voice prompts on startup (you can see the assistant turning on the mic right after it announces your name). I forget where exactly the setting is, but I believe it's in the system category. I haven't ever turned it off, but I suspect that if you turn off the microphone on startup setting, it won't make the announcement.

Loving the EV! The Masters welcome today made my day. See its the back-layer of the MBUX also, is there a way you can make that bigger or the main image.
Also, on the app, I am charging and it shows kw/h, can I change to be miles/hour charge? I think more in miles vs. kw.

As far as I know, there's no way to change it. Miles is a relative concept, because it can change pretty easily based on temperature and driving style, while the kW rate is always going to be exact. If you have a sedan, loosely speaking, with a sedan in the summer, you can expect about 33-35 miles/charging hour on a 9.6 kW EVSE. With the SUV, I'd guess about 32 miles/charging hour on the same EVSE.

Appreciate all the support!!!
See in the Mercedes Connect App it says for more ‘digital extras’ I should use the Me app….thought all 19 or older were to use Connect?
Just want to make sure I’m getting the most out of the auto and the app!

There is no way to configure that, and I'm sure it's for safety reasons, as when you're moving at higher speeds, the car icon makes it harder to distinguish position and direction. The red arrow is easier to ready, and position is easier to infer at speeds, especially when the map zooms out and the relative scale of the car wouldn't make as much sense.

This AM I asked Mercedes about the news of the day, assumed it would read me or link me to the AP/BCC info, etc. She came a back with 'Here is the AP new per 6AM'....'internet connect not strong enough, try again later'! I checked my internet in 'system' and it says I'm connected via the Mercedes Me we get for 1 year, correct? Then I went to the web app and wants me to create an TMobile Hotspot.....
I am a bit confused......am I not connected to a data plan and need to get one?

This is all so frustratingly complicated and Mercedes doesn't help the situation with their "loose" and uncoordinated marketing claims.
Firstly, a lot of the connectivity stuff is very market dependent. You will enhance the quality of the responses to your questions, stc, by indicating which country you're in. I had initially assumed US, but then you mentioned BBC...
Anyway for me, here in Sweden, it was complicated to understand and setup and I make this comment coming from 30 years in IT. I think a lot of it has to do with all the moving parts (i.e. different providers and companies) that try to partner to make this happen -- and it's different in every market.
I got the same "internet connection not strong enough" message when trying to listen to BBC news blurbs...until I signed up for a dedicated internet-in-the-car mobile subscription (here in Sweden, a collaboration between TeleNor and Vodafone). Once I got this set up, my BBC & other news blurbs worked.
It sounds like you may already have an internet-in-the-car subscription for one year with T-Mobile?? If so, then perhaps there's just a missing step you need to go through, which is something I had to do. Once you have that subscription, you need to go to your car (with your phone) and go through the internet setup procedure until you get a QR code to come up on the MBUX screen. Scan that and it should take you to where you can log-in to your T-Mobile account. This action "pairs" the account and the car. At least that's what it did for me. I'm trying to remember this from when I did it nearly 5 months ago, so my recollection may be a little garbled...but the main point is, you need to pair the car with the account...and this "aha moment" worked for me when I was in the car, with my phone and scanned a QR code.
Another comment on this news service stuff. I thought it would be cool to be able to ask Hey Mercedes to play me the headlines...and it was...until the end of Dec 2023, when BBC stopped issuing their news summaries for this type of service. Yes, I can get The Economist, WSJ Europe and some other stuff...but nothing like BBC global news summary in a couple of minutes. And, I have come to learn that the news services available for you to configure in your Mercedes Me app is based on the language you have selected for MBUX. In my case, though I live in Sweden, I have the whole car and MMe configured in English because that's my native language. I can understand why Mercedes did this, but it's a cheap and incomplete way of handling language & service options, in my opinion. The only way I can get local Swedish news is by switching the entire car configuration to Swedish. I realize I could do this with a button push, but I hesitate...again because I am coming from 30 years in IT and have an idea of the myriad things that can go wrong if everything tied to language wasn't programmed by experts and tested extensively.

I've seen similar things happen when you try to issue queries too soon after starting the car. Give it a couple of minutes and see if it improves. Otherwise, it may indeed be that the provider is unable to return that news stream due to licensing or other issues. You should be able to return those results given the connectivity you have.

With the weather getting warmer, I was starting to use the Pre-Climate feather. I wanted to make sure I am doing it correctly
- If I go into the app and slide to 'activate', it will start the climate process then and stops when it hits my set temp....correct?
- If I go it the app and set a day/time and temp, it will ensure when I get to the car, at or around the set time, the temp will be at set...correct

I have not yet determined if it is a feature but if I have found that the charging will not start if there is an active schedule. It is easy to fix by disabling the schedule but you could get caught out if it does not charge when you expect it to.

Yes, make sure that the slider is set to on.

I think it will maintain the temperature until you start the car or it times out, but have not gotten enough experience with it yet. A useful trick is to turn it on while the car is charging - about ten or fifteen minutes before the charging is expected to complete - so the car is heated/cooled while connected to the mains supply. No point in using up the battery to heat/cool the car just after you charge it.
1. car plugged into AC and charging overnight
2. set a precondition for the following moring
3. disconnect the car around the departure time
4. next time the car is plugged into AC for charging it will not start charging until the precondition is set to off
also
5. set a precondition for any time
6. car is plugged into AC for charging it will not start charging until the precondition is set to off

New issue….another EV is showing up in my ME Connect App.
Called Customer Service and I was advised to remove, still there.
Called the dealer and they didn’t set it up, was sold at another dealer.
Anybody have this issue?

@stc1996 , wow, that's kinda scary. I'm guessing it might have been a VIN entry issue somewhere. Call MBUSA, ask to speak to a tier 2 support for Mercedes Me Connect. They need to see this as a top-priority security issue! The good news is it isn't leaking your information, but it isn't good for whomever the owner of the other car is! It may also be a new dealer vehicle that hasn't been sold. Definitely get MBUSA's tier 2 Mercedes Me Connect folks involved, they should have it sorted quickly.
