Which year w222 did you try? I'd assume it evolves over the years even within same model generation.
The lane keeping is my biggest concern at the moment and the only thing that may keep me from getting the car.
I am literally in love with the interior but I despise the exterior. The inside of this vehicle is the best car experience I have ever laid eyes on, but the exterior is the minimalist most boring element of a car. Mercedes Please transplant this interior on to the w223. Or Make a very heavy customizable EQS vehicle with many exterior effects to make it look much much different than the regular EQS. The interior is a work of Art.
My dream would be to make a Coupe version of the EQS, an EQS-CPE. A two door version of this would be the perfect car, I know im in the minority I think top 2 of the best Mercedes designed cars ever is the 2018 to 2020 S63 coupe, and the SLR Mclaren.
Obviously coupe version is always going to look better. But my sense is this car looks much better in person than in videos. The problem with 2 dimensional images is that they are distorted and the distortion doesn't work well on large cars like this (I always have a very hard time photographing my Panamera for instance).
MotoMan has a review here in which he comments on the appearance of the car at around 11:20 - 12:00 in this video. It is an interesting perspective - particularly as he compares it to the W223 - and also because he isn't always positive in his car reviews.

I tried 2019. I also have the version in my 2020 GLE as well. None of these is even as good as the BMW one. I think the BMW one though is the sharpest one I have tested. I haven't tried Cadillac or Hyundai's versions which are supposedly best in class.

BMW's traffic jam assist is pretty impressive from what I've seen. I've used my wife's driver assist tech in the GLC a few times and was pretty impressed at its ability to hold the lane and even change lanes itself. She goes to DC for work so I can definitely see how it can be a useful feature for a lot of people.
Thanks for the post. The upcoming EQS-SUV is the sweet spot for me and my wife and the one that may convince us us to buy our first EV. Our last four vehicles where all SUV's (listed below in my signature) because we prefer the ride height for easier entry and exit. We're most excited to see this SUV when it debuts later this year or early next year. Of course we're also excited to see and test drive the EQS sedan when it arrives this fall. It should tell us what we need to know about a move to an EV.

maybe but it doesn't make sense. you can't feel a paint transition from the silver to the black. to the touch it feels like one surface. so to do that the color coat has to be different but the clearcoat has to be the same over both. so i don't see how they can paint the black over the silver after clear coat. you would be able to feel the paint transition.

yeah confused me too. i wonder if they have it for a different market than the usa.
In the media photographs of the EQS they have a color called High Tech Silver which is not the silver in the US ordering guide. So there is clearly a special edition in High Tech Silver for some regional market. I wonder if the Edition One was for that country.

Hi Tech Silver and Cirrus Silver(US DOG) are the same color. Same color code, different name for different market
