There's definitively a windshield problem - however I doubt it'll stop the demand - these trucks are ultra cool and beyond logic - it's a luxury thing

The delivery time in Europe on the windshields is 6-8 weeks atm. Still waiting on my second one which is due to arrive mid Sep.

I heard that Mercedes-Benz (Magna) knows the problem, so the new windshileds are on the way (i think from october or november they will be available). They will be thicker and stronger.

This would be great to have confirmed. Sucks to be installing yet another weak windscreen in September then... Hoping to get a stronger one next time!

That's exactly what I was thinking....I'm supposed to have a replacement windshield some time in September.
MB customer service just called me again and they have no knowledge of an admitted problem or possible fix in the works.

Where did you hear this from because nobody I have spoken to in the U.S. thinks or knows there is a problem.

Of course they are not telling you they have a problem That would open the flood gates for recalls and replacements at their cost or possibly a class action lawsuit. There is a problem! They know they have a problem! And they are addressing the problem on a go-forward basis. This is how the game is played. Time to stop whining and get in line and be prepared to pay or have your insurance cover it. Next???

uh...okay....
First off how do you know they know they have a problem? They're addressing the problem on a go-forward basis....really, according to who? It's not a game, it's called customer service. I'm annoyed, if that comes across as whining to you then I apologize. Get in line....I am in line, I asked my dealer to order a windshield 3 weeks ago. I have windshield protection so this doesn't cost me anything but down time for my car.
I just find it unreasonable that the company can't have replacement windshields available in a timely manner for what is an incredibly expensive automobile.
So are we done here?

Pretty annoying answer. Stop whining and get you wallet out. Could be applied to all possible faults with every vehicle and then this forum wouldn't be any interesting would it?

It must be from 3rd party as when I purchased maintenance and tires/wheels plan, I specifically asked about windshield and was told it's not offered. I bought mine from FJ Fremont in the Bay Area and purchased few vehicles from them before.

I'm in Southern California and I believe so far I've been waiting four weeks.
At the earliest it will probably be another week or two before my dealer can get a windshield.
This is fantastic service on a truck I paid $220k for.
