Dealer Allocations

Do all dealers, at least in the US, get at least one G Class allocation each year?

Hard to say. MBUSA groups dealers by size(how many cars they sell). The biggest dealers and the AMG Centers get the most allocation. A small dealer out in the sticks may not get one at all.

Thanks, just curious. With 384 dealers in the US I would think each one would get at least one but I guess that may not be the case. Can a dealer without an allocation submit an order for one with the hope it gets picked up for production?

My experience is they don’t know. I went to my dealer last year telling them I’d like to order another G bc the tax depreciation on my current one has run out. The sales guy and the sales manager tells me it will be 2 years for the next build allocation. I said fine, we sat down and spec’d my build. I walked out thinking its gonna be 2026 for my next one. Last month I got a call from a new sales guy saying my build has been built and is in Graz. But bc of “new management” at the dealership, they want ADM $75k.

I said no. Someone else might buy it for +75k but I have to make my money, good luck. Lets see what happens when it gets to the showroom in April 🙄

I am waiting for 2025 allocations, which I assume will be in the summer.

Theoretically yes. Dealer can contact the district rep for an allocation. May have to take 10 EQS sedans to get one! lol

$75k over is a stretch. Probably go $25-30k over.

I spoke to the Gen Mgr at my dealer who is one of the larger ones in NJ and they get 4 G63s and 11-12 G550s per year. It has been this way for the last 10 years according to them and I've been buying Gs regularly since 2016. And no, I don't pay above MSRP but I've been a loyal client for over 25 years so that's likely the reason besides the fact I always trade in back to them.

Right before they stopped taking orders there seemed to be a lot of available build slots. I imagine when redesign is announced it will become hard to secure one.

Good point since those who ordered 2024 have been told they will be getting a 2025, and orders were cut short.
