Question Do you look down on other benz owners with lower class?

I wonder, do you guys look down on others with a benz of lower class? ie, I got an S Class, look at that fool thinking he is pimping cuz he is in an E. or my EClass is the bomb, what fool will drive a C class? Or I got a C class, what's that 190E?, is the E for escort? etc, etc. :-) Come on, don't lie.

Or do you honestly respect anyone and their benz and happy that they are driving a benz instead of another model?

I never look down at another Benz...unless it is an old busted-a$$ Benz with a dude in it thinking he is pimpin the new hotness. The way I see it, every one has to start somehwere....I say that while rollin a C but I would stand behind it if I were rollin an SL.

There's no sense in bashing others because of what they drive.
People find the satisfaction in the cars they purchase and they are thankful to even have some type of transportation.

For those who are single and have no children, it must be very rewarding to put their monies into their prized vehicle...there's nothing wrong with that. It's their trophy! Those who drive top of the line models, I admire for their potential to set goals and accomplish them.

But many people are different, there are others out there who make so much money and choose to save for other things or would rather spend it on other things. Everyone is different and what they choose doesn't make them a bad person.

Criticism creates drama...drama creates problems...problems don't get anyone too far in life. Learn to appreciate, not only yourself, but others too.

FWIW, I prefer driving my Ford Explorer over the Mercedes...only because I could see further in traffic and I am more comfortable. I could load up the Explorer when I shop and not wonder how the heck I'm going to bring stuff home!

Think you need to work more on your personal insecurity issues before caring about what others think about the model Benz you drive...

I don't look down on others with a lower class MB, but it does sometimes make me wonder why someone would purchase a bone stock C 230 when they could get an Acura or an Infiniti for the same amount with more option and accessories. Is it just the name?

Perhaps they already have an Acura or an Infiniti...

Or the lower class MB has the body style they're looking for and they don't care much about the extra options.

Or the lower class MB is just another MB to add to their collection.

I hardly think it matters. The more Benz on the road the less of other cars around. That means I have a better chance of not crashing into a car with bad brakes. But then if I do it will probably cause less injury to those onboard. Which is still a concern no matter who is at fault.

have you ever sat in an acura or infiniti? their interior is CRAP. i sat in about 20 different acura's and infiniti's yesterday at the ny auto show and they were so ****ty, seriously. i think the g35's and tsx look good on the outside but the inside is so cheap and stuff feels like its gonna fall apart. lexus is the only one that's a step above those two, lexus make nice interiors. then comes bmw then audi then mercedes. an acura is still a honda and an infiniti is still a nissan. don't let the name fool you.

ct230K:

Actually I have sat in an Acura and Infiniti. My previous car was a 03' G35 Coupe and a 99' G20. I don't completely agree with you that the interior is crap, but I have sat in a C230 and was not thoroughly impressed either. You just sat in those cars for a quick minute at the Auto Show, you may have a different opinion after owning one for a few years. You say to not let the names fool you, but Nissan and Honda are well respected automobiles with high standards as well. While living in Japan, I had the chance to sit in such cars as the Toyota Crown, Celsior and the Mark II. Those cars have interiors that would put some MB's and BMW's to shame. MB does have very high standards when it comes to quality, but since I have only owned my SLK 350 for 2 months I have yet to find out how it handles the wear and tear.

well obviously you would disagree with me lol. do you think the older models were better quality? a lot of companies are on cost cutting rampages lately.
sure nissan and honda are respected but for reliablity and value not performance and high quality. i won't even mention how horrible i thought the 350z's interior was, that was just the worst. but for the price you pay for the new g35's i would expect a much nicer interior. i really do like the g35 exterior, it flows very nicely, much nicer than the new bmw 3 series.

In regards to quality of interior, I personally judge quality based on the fit and finish and how well the leather and other interior parts stand up to years of wear and tear. In my experience the Infiniti's were of excellent quality. I was never aware of auto manufacturers being on a cost cutting rampage though, does that mean MB as well? You are correct in that the 350Z's interiors are horrendous, but not all Nissans are like that. Also, you say that Nissans and Hondas are not known for high performance, but I would disagree. Cars such as the Skyline R34, Acura NSX and Silvia's are highly touted as true performance cars and have a loyal fllowing. Nissan and Toyotas entrance in the GT series as well as F1 racing also is a direct correspondence to their heritage in making high performance/high quality engines.

one day, i saw the new S-class Mercedes driving on the road and I thought to myself, wow what a nice car. But then a few seconds later, a new Rolls Royce Phantom passed me by and I was definitely more impressed by it since i knew it cost about 3 or 4 times more than the S-class Mercedes.

I can't believe this thread, it makes me sick.

I'd rather drive a fully loaded C Class (not necessarily a C55) than a skinny E Class.

You are not better because you drive an S Class...you must remember, you could end up feeling stupid if a Maybach parks next to you.

very true. those are the exceptions to the rule. i would also put the Supra in that category. and how bout the RX-8's interior? ugh.

I decided to drive a loaded E class rather than any S class because an S wouldn't have survived daily use in my office building parking garage - not enough room. I don't necessarily view the classes as, well, classes. There are personal reasons to choose one model or another.

Here in the D.C. area, no one will ever look you in the eye, so you can't give a nod or a thumbs-up to fellow MB drivers. When I'm in my Vanagon, it's even hard to catch the eye of a VW driver for a wave. It's a VW thing, you wouldn't understand.

I do look down somewhat on people driving around with bad rings. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's too expensive for them to fix, but it seems as though there are an awful lot of people spewing clouds of oil out of the tailpipe on the Washington Beltway.

ct230k, Again I agree regarding the interior of the RX8. I was also dissapointed when I rode in a friends 02' Audi A4 1.8T with the fit and finish of that car. I expected alot more out of Audi, but found the car very uncomfortable and somewhat 'cheap'. I've always loved Audi's and was even thinking of purchasing a TT, but after driving in the A4, I started getting second thoughts on the how well Audi's are built.

Japanese and German is a big difference.

A bone stock C230 feels a hell of a lot better than any Acura or Infinity for the same price.

It's not the name, it's the way it makes me feel when I slam on the gas and I hear that Supercharger kick in, and how if I want to my tail-end breakes loose on corners and I have a hell of a good time counter-stearing and spining the rears. No Acura or Infinity can match that for the same price I got my coupe.

For some Auto enthusiasts options are of very little importance.
""and ctC230K is right Acura and Infinity interiors are crap""

I'm guilty of "looking up" to people with really nice Benzes, but rarely looking down.

I do look down, however, at the way a car is modded. If they have modded it distastefully, then I will go out of my way to shake my head and or snicker at their cars. I think I am doing those misguided youths a favor by disaproving and looking down. If I don't, who is going to?? But it has to be really distastefull.
