Maybe its just me but I'm sick of AMG!

I live in NJ and I can say that I am sick of AMG. It seems that everyone has one.

In a 6 hour period I saw 11 AMG's (all real), 4 of which were S55's. My friend traded in his SL500 (2k3) for an SL55.

Is there a special lease rate that I am unaware of?

I now see 2x as many AMG's a day as I see M's.

If everyone has one its not special anymore...plus all the owners are 70+ in age and barely drive faster then the speed limit....grr

Keep in mind that NJ is one of the top 3 richest states in the union and that it has some of the richest counties in the USA. Perhaps AMGs in our state compare to Ferraris in Los Angeles.

I am just wondering if MB is producing more AMG's now then they did for the last body style of each model.

I do know that MB wants to increase sales volume across the board. However, you still need to have people who want to buy the car.

I live near Princeton and I NEVER see any AMGs. It is strange. If there is a MB around here, it is either an old C or a newish S500. Nothing else around.

Come to California, especially Silicon Valley. The first thing people did after selling stock options or becoming a VP was buy a MB. Why not the biggest and badest one around? I agree that it's kind of sad to see such a fine piece of craftsmanship in the hands of someone who doesn't know how to use it.

I heard that the AMG cars are limited to ~2000 per year for each model and that ~500 come to the USA.

Thats odd since Princeton (in general) is a rich area.

E55AMG99 - Do you know the amount produced of the older styles? Like C43 or C36 (of which I have only seen 2 IRL).

I once saw the production/import numbers on a website but I failed to bookmark it. I haven't been able to locate it since. If I do, I'll post it.

Talking about AMG's in California. I am in LA and frequent Beverly Hills. You wanna talk about AMG's as far as the eye can see?! All day long and I agree, that it is sad when these beautiful machines are in the hands of someone who knows nothing about what they are driving. I had a 98 BMW M3 and sold it partly because there were just too many out here. Now my 97 E420 is sitting on Carlsson's just to try and be a little different out here. My side skirts are being painted as we speak and I am still working on getting my Carlsson front bumper but it's hard to find. I think a newer E500 is what I will think about next. Later guys...

I live in Bergen county. If it doesn't cost more then $80000 it isn't an MB around here. I have never seen a C32, just E55, SL55, S55, and one G55 around here. And more Asian women in M3's then you could shake a stick at.

Me and my little c-coupe get lots of chuckles...

Saying you are sick of seeing AMG's is like saying you are sick of seeing MB's to me! I really love seeing ALL MB's on the road. I even get a kick whenever I see really old folks sporting the 03 AMG line.

Probably because I will be doing the same when I am 60+!

Regards,
DLS

Come on guys, what determine if you're an AMG driver is your $$$, not how fast he or she drives. It's not like we are in F1 or something.

That's not always true either...you can lease them fairly cheap.
