Can't tell if I have kick-open tailgate in my GL63
I just picked up a 2015 GL63. The tailgate doesn't kick-open like the trunk on my S. My dealer says MB doesn't offer this feature on SUVs for safety reasons but I've seen conflicting info (https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...s-2014-gl.html for example). It's got a trailer hitch which may or may not matter. Was foot activated liftgate available on the 2015 GL63 and if not, is it possible to retrofit the OEM option, or if not do any recommended aftermarket kits exist?

Post your VIN and can be decoded to see the options on the vehicle.

Not sure how the feature works on M-B vehicles, but on BMWs the kick to open does not work with a trailer hitch, in the US market.

No - the "kick access" rear tailgate was not a option for your 2015 GL... and NO there is no retrofit or aftermarket... enjoy your AMG !

Oh well I guess I'll have to bear the heavy burden of physically pressing a button to open the tailgate lol. The GL63 is awesome and charmingly insane.

yes, many many many times walking out of CostCo or Target or any retailer with both hands full of groceries, boxes, kids, what not ... that right foot comes hand(y) ...
