15 GL 550, From Perfect to many Camshaft and Coil Codes in 1 Cold Start
Minor Misfire after purchase. So went ahead and did all 8 plugs and Beru Coils. FCP Euro. (Been reading here there have been issues with them). Running like a top past few months following that. Fast Forward to yesterday. Was Painting in garage so GL was outside and it was really our first cold spell. around 30. Not crazy cold. Started up instantly, high idle like normal for 2 sec, then wham. extreme rough. Got it in garage, shaking hard in gear. Shut down. Ran Codes, listed below. Quick google, and my history with BMW, Low Battery (Cold and Unknown age). Meter said it was at 12v under hood. Charged over night. 13.1v Started this morning, same issues. As it warms it gets better. idles 650 rpm, slight roughness. Put in Gear, Shakes Horribly . as you rev through 1000 it shakes again. by 1500 seems to be fine. Can rev up with what seems power. Haven't driven because when in gear to idle out it shakes to the point the headlights rattle.
Only other thing that has changed in the last week other than cold temp was my oil change. But it has around 75 miles since the change. Mobil 1 4w40. Just a premium knock off filter.
Codes
B2AAA- Body
P0348 - Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Bank 2
P0352 - Coil B (2)
P0353 - Coil C (3)
P0355 - Coil E (5)
P0358 - Coil H (8)
P0393 - Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Bank 2
P13B3 - Haven't found a clear answer for this one.
P2092 - A Camshaft Position Actuator Control Bank 2 b
P2094 - B Camshaft Position Actuator Control Bank 2 c
I know that not all these are root cause. I'm sure some are due to the others. What is odd. All the Camshaft codes are on Bank 2 (Drivers Side) but the coil codes are 2 per side.
A few things checked.
1. Absolutely no oil contamination in harness at any of the Cam position or Other one on the face of the cam. Can't remember what they call them. The larger round ones. 2 wires.
2. Voltages and grounds on the Cam Position sensors are all good, But on the front one. (Only 2 Wires) the red on the Bank 1 are open. Bank 2, where issues, are reading to ground. Positive voltages are all the same. That's on the harness end of plug.
Considering New Battery to Start as this all happened directly to the cold. I did read in a thread to pull negative for a day to clear things. Doubt it, but its undone.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear.
