GL63 Ordering Information
Some quick thoughts about first accelerator to foot experience.
Fit and finish is very elegant as opposed to typical AMG. My colors feel more like a men's smoking club with rich leather and wood. The seats are extremely comfortable. Bolsters are not active as in the larger AMG cars. Over all seems more luxury than sport.
The double pain front driver/passenger windows are a big plus reducing wind/sound noises. My SL was surprisingly noisy from wind (tires were very noisy but, the wind was a surprise). The B&O seems nice but, not sure if getting full potential unless using an uncompressed CD. The exhaust note is there but subtle. Typically, the exhaust note improves over time. I'm used a sport exhaust in the Porsche often with top down. I definitely feel more isolated in the SUV too.
Suspension is softer than expected even in Sport + mode. I think my Q7 was firmer in it's softest setting. With that being said, there is virtually no body roll turning corners or on sweeping clover leaf's. I was disappointed that when you turn off car, and then return for next ride, you have to press all buttons again as it doesn't remember last settings. Same with ventilated seats.
Acceleration is fantastic. It feels more like a sporty car but, when you need to stop and/or move lanes, you feel it's weight. Considerably more nimble than any SUV I've even driven but, it ain't a Porsche or Ferrari by any means. The RennTECH tune gave the throttle a feather touch and torque, speed is much more relevant at lower speeds (0-60 timed at 4.1) It's very 'willing' and you have to pay attention (at least first day). I played with Manual Mode but, didn't explore it fully. The paddle's feel is very mechanical and they seem to click then changing gears. Not that great in my opinion.
Over all, I'm VERY happy with the new ride and have some time to put in to get a more refined impression. She's already caught some attention and points just in the few hours on the road

Do YOU think Renntech tune is worth considering? What are YOUR thoughts?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I ended up leasing it but haven't decided about purchasing the tire and wheel protection for $1800
For example - in my state - prepaid maintenance can be residualised - so youe true out-of-pocket cost for the maintenance package (30K for MSRP$999) is the effrect of adding $999 to the MSRP - and your lease cost increase is that depreciation factor + money facotr on that partial cost - so prepaid maitenance added to a 36K mile lease is a "true deal".
So, confirm the MSRP of the wheel/tire package - then ask if this is a residualised add-on or not - comprende ?
Residualised add-on's - if possible in your state due to their particular leasing laws - in large part can become quite affordable as compared tp purchase.
ALWAYS ASK - and ALWAYS get a clear answer - yes, some dealers can misinform their buyers to add additional profit.

Please post more pics.
Edit to add the window sticker. As I mentioned earlier I did not order but lucked into one that came available. Seems to be fully optioned with the exception of the B&O
