I talked to the service guy at dealer about acoustic glass but he said it is not in your car and it is not available in GLC. My curiosity led me to talk to the customer center and they also said the same thing that NONE of GLC in US are suppose to have acoustic glass.

Wondering how come some in US have this option and some don't. Regardless, how come they are saying it is not available in any GLC in US but still it is available.

Mine does not, just got it two and a half weeks ago. The wind noise is loud at 65mph and up especially when both sides of the highway are wide open area. It almost like a windy day except there is no wind and the noise are from both sides. The only disappointing item so far.

I don't have acoustic on my GLC300 either. I do hear wind noise when traveling at high speed but it's not too bad. I can still hear my nav or radio at normal volume level without any problem and have a conversation at the same. But curious how much quieter having acoustic glass windows in comparison.

The only one that I have seen marked "Acoustic Glass" on the front windows is a demo GLC that my selling dealership used for a while. Every other GLC I have seen (well over a dozen with all sorts of different trim levels) do not have window markings indicating acoustic glass. That's two different dealerships in Minnesota over the past few months.

That being said, car seems very quiet especially compared with our prior 2010 Acura MDX.

Yes, this is definitely quieter than other cars I have been in. So I would think the glass will not make much difference.

Very puzzling, since my dealer changed out a non acoustic glass panel under warranty.

No acoustic glass on my UK edition but, to be fair, no significant road noise...

Don't worry -- you don't need it.
Quote: While cleaning the windows on my GLC I discovered the passenger's window is labeled "Acoustic", but the driver's window is not.

Is there is an explanation for this situation?
The sales guys at my dealer follow this forum and tried to look into this. There is no explanations . . . more important there is NO NEED for making this car any quieter. It's awesomely quiet on local streets and on the highways. I will say that rolling back the inside shade for the sunroof creates a noise situation but even that's not bad. Of course it gets worse when you open the glass.

Anyway, don't worry about it.

Evidently M-B didn't see it that way.

Within a couple of days a replacement window was on order and within the month it was replaced. The noise reduction was noticeable.

In my view, no such thing as a vehicle interior thats too quiet.

I ordered this separately for my 2017 GLC.
And I don't think it comes as part of any available package.
Here in Sweden, it's called "noise and heat reducing glass".
The cost is really neglectable, so to me there were no doubt.
According to the seller, it makes a quiet car even quieter....

For my 2016 GLC it was code 851 (acoustic glazing) if that hasn't been previously noted somewhere.

I'm in UK with a GLC on order. You can't order the acoustic glass option here in the UK, but I did cost up the 2 windows with acoustic from the parts catalogue, and it came out at less than the german option cost for the acoustic glass.

So, I will change my glass if the noise is annoying me (or if there is a UK service bulletin for noise, i'll get the dealer to do it !!)

We also can't get rear heated seats which annoyed me, or front cooled seats, or heated steering wheel...

Well, the new windows are in. No damage and no rattling. You would never know the panels were removed. Is it a huge difference, no, is it better, yes. Now the wind tunnel noise does not start till about 80+ mph, a speed at which I don't drive, before it started at 55-60 mph. I am happy.

There is actually a service bulletin on this issue which is why they took care of it. Not only did they replace the glass but they installed a piece of foam insulation, 1/2 inch wide by 1 inch long, somewhere in each door. Can't remember exactly where they said it was going to go. It was part of the service bulletin package. Service Bulletin # L172.10-P-062500.

As a first time Mercedes buyer I am very pleased with the way this was handled. Mercedes Benz of Arrowhead is AWESOME!
The wind noise in my car is increasing as few miles have been added since I took it home in April 2016. I finally couldn't take the loud wind noise anymore, so I finally took it in and had them test drive it with me to prove I'm not making it up. They did some adjustment to the door seal but that didn't fix the problem, so now I'm requesting they replace my 2-front side windows to acoustic glass which they agreed to do. The acoustic glass for GLC are currently on backorder but I'm just happy they're replacing them. Thanks for providing the service bulletin# MITCH1975. I think that really helped my case.
