Screeching Brakes on the GLC

I just completed my manufacturer buy back of my GLC. I have dealt with the screeching brakes issues for over a year, with multiple attempts to fix including new pads and rotors. I was told by my dealer that they are about 5 weeks away from identifying a permanent fix, but then the parts would need to be manufactured, which could take another 6 months. It's and issue with the GLC and C class. I had the issue with both the front and rear brakes. I decided to do the buy back given I had no confidence in this getting addressed relatively quickly and customer support during this issue has been horrible. I really liked my GLC, but for $50K, you shouldn't have to deal with this type of problems. My neighbors will be a lot happier now that my car is gone.

Please share how the Buyback program worked out, I would love to return my vehicle if the loss is minimal.
My brake sound is just way too loud, and I cannot wait until this July to have the parts in. I am done.

I first sent a letter notifying Mercedes to address in the manual. It says if you have a dispute you have to do it in writing. I also worked with Mercedes customer care and told them I wanted a buy back, they said they would look into it and give them a few weeks, never heard back from them. I then went to a lemon law lawyer as Mercedes is responsible for the attorney fees. Once that happened the process was fast, took about a month, I get my money back and they pay the attorney fees. I only had to pay 1,500 for usage, 4,500 miles. I really wanted to keep,the car, but it just isn't right. My neighbors were thrilled when it was gone. One neighbor joked and said my expensive car made more noise than their cheap car. Maybe I will get a BMW X3 now or get a GLC in a few years when all the bugs are worked out.

yes, I am having the same brake issue and now my Mercedes is in the shop for an estimated 2-3 weeks -- why? well, they just don't know. But, they will be sure to get back to me when they do....?! What?
two to three weeks to work on my car? and they don't know what is wrong? and, the brake issues was never resolved?

I've already had the car serviced once and it didn't work. All dealers are now refusing to work on the car for the brake issue. They are telling me they have no parts for this fix.
I have called MB USA and filed a complaint. I have filed a report with NHTSA.

I filed the sue for GLC through my Lemon Lawyer, and I actually won the case now. Even after the case is settled, if my brake is not fixed within this Feb, I will be filing the buyback program through my attorney as Scott said.

FWIW, I had a '16 GLC with terrible brake squeal only when I backed out of the garage. I replaced it with a '17 with the sport package (different front discs) and no squeal as of yet (under 1000 miles). A possible fix might be to upgrade to the perforated front brake discs. Time will tell if the '17 will start squeaking.

Isn't the main benefit of Sport brakes is that they are drilled so they can stay cooler and more effective during "sporty" driving? The squeal problem is most prominent on cold brakes. Further evidence is in the fact that MB has attempted to reformulate the pads, with no mention of faulty rotors.

2017 4matic with ~3,500 miles. Squeal has started while in reverse.
Thanks to all the posts here, I know to just wait for a fix from MB. This isn't that significant of a problem in my opinion.

I contacted a Lemon Law Attorney today. They can't do anything until I've had it fixed 3 times. However, my dealer refuses to fix it anymore until there is an updated bulletin and they have parts. So, we've only had it in once to fix. And that didn't work more than 4 hours.

Thanks for reporting. Let us know how you feel when you have been listening to it every morning for months and months. It gets old real quick for not only the driver, but your neighbors as well (at 7am). My daughter can hear it from her bus stop 2 blocks away.

Anyone in the New England area who may want to pursue this as a group I would be interested in joining in.
Has anyone successfully replaced the pads with a different kind on their own? (not with MB) - Just curious - I'd be willing to consider it to reduce the noise. Like others, I wake the neighbors up.

We have the same problem about the screeching brakes. We called numerous times to MBUSA and Mercedes Benz factory which does not promise anything. The last call was today on February 3rd 2017. They still saying they don't have a way to permanently fix it.
Im looking for getting a lawyer.
Who can advice in where should i seek more help about lawyers?
Because this is just the type of car that not suppose to be fixing this problem for so long. It feels like there is not really anything being done.
And by the way I'm from Oregon-Washington area. Anybody from here with the same problem?
