Anyone have large dog in cargo area of their GLC
I've been sizing mid-size SUVs lately and am concerned if my 60lb dog will be comfortable in the cargo area with the rear seats upright. Does anyone hear carry their dog in the cargo area of their GLC (not the coupe). Is their enough room for the dog to sit up and look out the back window? Or does the slope of the rear window make it difficult? How about two dogs?
FYI, I went to two dealers yesterday to take a look at the GLC and neither had a GLC in stock to show me. What's going on there?

Should fit fine, it's roughly the same size cargo area as my old FX-35 and my 85 lb Rott-Shepherd fit fine. I let him ride in the back seating area and have a seat cover plus blanket arrangement... that way he can poke his head out and still keep the interior mostly clean.

I have a 100lb Great Dane and she fit in my cargo area comfortably with her big blanket, no issues. I put one of the seats down sometimes as she is a people person dog and likes to interact with me or be near me when she's in a vehicle.

Thanks for the replies. I have a friend in my neighborhood who puts his two standard poodles in the back of his GLC43, but I think it only works with the rear seats folded down. I can probably do that as well but I'm worried about wear and tear on the leather. I am also considering a GLE which should make this a non-issue. I was looking at the Cayenne earlier which compares to the GLE.

If you do go for a GLE, I would wait for the new model next year with redesigned interior that looks like the E-Class. That's one of the reasons I am in a GLC43 instead of a GLE350/43. I couldn't get into another Mercedes with the 2012 interior. I am looking to maybe go bigger and get a redesigned GLE43 in a few years or if my need for speed is still there, a GLC63.

Just a tip on the dog deal - and I have both a SUV and E-Wagon - Canvasback makes great cargo liners for do owners:

I'm going to go look at the E400 Wagon this weekend. It appears to have more cargo space (by length) than the GLE. Perhaps it is the ultimate dog-hauler. I am seduced by the interior design and technology of the latest e-series.

Most MB Enthusiasts on the E-Wagon get giddy over the AMG E63 Wagon - in that direction doesn't matter is new or pre-owned - 500hp+ in the E-Wagon makes that one sexy beast !

My 130# Newfoundlland fits....barely.
Your tiny pooch will have plenty of room.

So I went a different direction entirely. Just picked up a full-size Range Rover. Plenty of room for the dogs. But the height to the tailgate is going to be an issue. I'll figure it out. Thanks everyone for you help.
