Hello All, I'm new to this forum...
Hello All,
New here but not to MB World. I have been kicking around MBW since my 2002 C230 Kompressor, Daughter's C240 and my 2014 GLK Base model. I recently purchased a pristine CPO 2022 GLC 300 4Matic with Pana roof..This car had under 10,000 miles when I picked her up and so far I am really enjoying her! It is much more sophisticated than the GLK, obviously, in nearly every way and I am hopeful it will be as bulletproof and reliable. I put over 140,000 miles on the GLK with only basic maintenance until last fall when she began sending up flares, hence the new car.
I am looking for advice and input from this group for tips, maintenance suggestions and any pitfalls and cautions I should be watchful for.
I'm curious what others have used to maintain the finish on their cars? This one is finished in Lunar Blue Metallic. I have always used Maguire products, I have been very happy with them. I am considering using a Ceramic product on this Dark finish and am looking for info on what others have used.
Has anyone added a rear bumper cover / guard to protect the top of the bumper? Any suggestions on this product? Amazon has a variety but I like user experience suggestions if anyone has done this.
In the past I have done all my own maintenance and repairs(for the most part) and plan on continuing that practice moving forward.
So, Hello again and Thanks in Advance for any and all advice, tips and other input.

Pretty car.
Keep it under warranty, and make sure the records you keep for your self-service are acceptable to keep the warranty in effect.
Enjoy your new ride!

Welcome ! She is gorgeous, Very nice ride.
Im also fan of Meguiar's products, but also like 303 brand.
Newer car means new eco norms = more crap added to the car, maintenance is the key for MBs. I bought Stop/Start disabler even before I bought the car.
Im afraid recommended schedule is not enough for newer cars especially like BMW and MB if you are planning to keep them post warranty.
Read about LSPI and cracked pistons, you will find a very long discussions on this forum, will keeps you awake ))
Enjoy your ride !!!

Thanks for the input so far!
I have a question regarding the "recommended" maintenance schedule. Does anyone have a printed copy of the schedule, the manual is vague. Also, what is the consensus on a preferred schedule? On my GLK I followed the recommends and had Zero trouble until the 140,000 mile range.(then, some component failures...) I understand the increased demand on a smaller, more efficient engine likely has higher potential liability. What have others done to try and mitigate this?

Use the search on this forum, this was discussed many times.
FYI MB stopped printing maintenance schedule from 2018.

Got it. When I used "printed" I meant electronic / .pdf that could be shared on here.
Also, for my clarity, the 2022 GLC 300 4Matic is a M264 type / group / class engine, correct?

You can find their message in one of my posts related to a maintenance.
I would suggest you to use your VIN and decode it, get all equipment and codes what you have installed including engine and body numbers.
I used https://www.lastvin.com/
a lot of others were discussed on this forum.

I'll try this a different way. Can anyone give me an example of the maintenance schedule they are using for their Late Model GLC 300 4Matic with the M264 engine? I have searched the forum but get no results, it may be my search term, but I'm hopeful someone will provide some guidance. Thanks.

Your OP: "I recently purchased a pristine CPO 2022 GLC 300 4Matic with Pana roof..This car had under 10,000 miles when I picked her up"
Your A&B services are due every 10,000 mi or one year, whichever comes first.
The first non-A/B service will be spark plugs and transmission fluid (may be lifetime now?), sometime after 50,000 miles, so you have time to ferret it out.
The one service that's Time Only, is brake fluid flush.
You are probably due now because it should be done every 2 years.

Thanks! Great starting point! On the theoretical side with an eye towards the concerns about engine / piston failure, what have others done regarding shorter service cycles? As I mentioned I did the 10,000 mile changes religiously with Mobil1. Bosch filters, etc and had Years of trouble free service. However, the vibe surrounding this 4 cylinder turbo may make that a dice roll I'm hoping to avoid....

Overheating
Detonation
Pre-Ignition
In order to minimize all of them, high grate fuel.
Personally I use Shell and Chevron only.
Read about LSPI, i use oil with MB spec plus API SP certify. I change oil every 3K you can find my posts with lab results. But its should be based on driving, more short trips change it more frequently.
With all above you need to keep all components clean, lubricated and running perfectly. From here, spark plugs I do every 30K miles. It takes less than an hour and about $100 in OEM parts.
Tranny and torque converter oil every 40K. Transfer case and diffs every 30K but thinking to do them at the same time with tranny, i don't have a lift so need to put car on stands once. Not sure yet.
Brake fluid, i have it done every two years, but bought tester and its 2.5 years now and still shows ok. Will flush it in next 6 months. Most likely at the same time when put my winter tires on.

Is there really any consensus that 3k intervals are helpful, or is that your personal preference?

my personal preferences based on the lab results.
