GLS 580 brakes look familiar
Despite having a 23" wheel option, it appears the GLS 580 gets the same brakes as the GLE 450 AMG package. Should mean they have some reserve in the GLE.

Mercedes told Analysts at year end that production had slowed because of the changeover and working with suppliers. Made it sound normal.
Then Mercedes reported that sales were slow Q1 2019 because (they think) people were holding off purchases waiting for the new model. No mention of any of the apparent production or supply issues. Personally I doubt they have a lot of 2018-2019 GLE inventory but maybe it has slowed sales of the AMG versions. Just looking at the serial numbers it would appear that production is good now except for E-ABC & and maybe a few similar components holding up orders.

No worries! Let me know how everything runs this weekend when you take that drive. Looking forward to hearing. Thanks again!

It is a head scratcher, my wife noticed it right away. Probably looked good on paper to match the real one on the driver side. I think it’s one of those things that might not bother you after a few weeks.

I said that I would comment on the AMG exhaust after I got mine home. I couldn’t get any better pictures than what have been posted. You would need it up on a rack to get far enough away to capture the detail. There is a single pipe (about 3”) running back to the rear canister. Then on each side there are duals running out the bumper. Those are about 1 1/2” & 2”. The larger 2” one has a valve, one valve on each side. This routes the exhaust through the 1 1/2” pipe at lower RPM. They are probably for sound but could also be to create a little back-pressure for better exhaust scavenging, just me guessing!
I hope to get a little driving time soon. Very impressed with the car so far.

This is what I just delivered to myself...
Just "delivered" to myself.... Emerald Green GLE450 ... Magma/Espresso leather ... Natural Grain Walnut....DP1/Premium...DA2/Driver's Assist... DA3/Parking Asst...DA4/Lighting Package... plus a bit more ... replaces my 2016 GL350BT.... I feel a little guilty about all the others in queue.. just a little.. it will all work out.

EQ Boost specs
Mercedes says EQ Boost adds 21 hp and 184 lb-ft for "over short periods," totaling 383 hp & 553 lb-ft - I wonder how long that is? I've never seen it quantified.

There is a lot more tech than I expected, I’m reading the manual more than usual.

Hello fabbrisd1, it looks like you do not have Airmatic or E-ABC on your GLE. Could you please tell us what you think about the steel springs and if you could give us a comparison with the Airmatic if you test drove one with it. Thanks!

[QUOTE=Puraj Patel;7729881]Pics and review coming soon. Bought for my wife so I haven't had the chance to drive as much as I want. Don't mind about my name. Got nothing to hide can Google me all you want haha. Stay tuned. My build sheet and some prelim pics attached.
Just out of curiousity, did yours come with 315's wide tires on the rears and 275's in the front? I saw a white one with an amg package on it with my name on it yesterday at my Dealership.

Looks amazing Ron! Quick favor, will you be able to let me know what MPG you are getting on this GLE cruising on the highway 75-80 mph? I haven't even test drove one and my dealer doesn't have a GLE450 in stock at all and we are still waiting for ours. I just want to be sure this SUV will get over 500 miles on a tank with MPG around 25 or higher on 95% highway.

Well I tried but can’t say anything certain. First we have a storm passing and wind 15-25mph. Then I realized that there aren’t many flat places long enough to get a reading. I can say that it seems to get good mileage. I put on 100 miles averaging 23.8 with more than half in the city. I don’t have any trips planned so won’t be able to add much more anytime soon. My sense is that averaging 25 mpg at 80 mph Is asking a lot, but might be possible in ideal conditions. Mileage should improve as the engine and drive train get some miles on them.
Thank you for letting me know this! Yeah you re getting 23.8 with more than half in city so thats really really good. If its 90 to 95% highway, I can presume based on all the reviews that you can get 25 to 26 mpg highway.

delayed/chaged order
Has anyone had to accept a car coming that is missing anything major? Our cars have gone through for June without the multicontour seats, ventilated or heated, and without the intelligent lights. The dealer now says he
will put us in for cars coming in August. Is there any way to call directly to Mbusa?

Well, here's the thing Greg, I don't know if I can get more frustrated with this (I'm at point of going to bmw). How can they have run out of seats? Or the light package?
They've been doing these seats for years. The light package I could let go, if I had to.

Greg, I got one early on, and then one came two weeks ago that I dind't notice was missing seats and lights. Are you saying there's a chance a shipment will come in if I keep this build? I can't imagine they wouldn't be hurrying to get seats in, since I'm sure lots of people want the head/ventilated seats. Maybe not the intelligent lights as much in demand.
