Anyone have any experience or thoughts with the air balance package with the air fragrance system. Is it just a gimmick or is it useful option?

Gimmick, only good thing is you can turn it on and off with voice commands.

TO BEGIN I RECEIVED MY GLE 450 AT THE END OF JULY;HAS JUST ABOUT EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION EXCPET FOR NAPPA LEATHER AND DRIVER ASSISTANCE PACKAGE. STARTING SOME 3 WEEKS AGO i RECEIVED A MESSAGE ON MBCONNECT APP THAT THE STATE OF STARTER BATTERY WAS CRITICAL. I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS -DROVE VEHICLE FOR OVER 30 MINS. MESSAGE DISAPPEARED BUT THEN REAPPEARED A FEW DAYS LATER. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALER WHO THEN WENT ON TO KEEP THE VEHICLE SOME 11 DAYS AND YET FEW DAYS LATER SAME MESSAGE AGAIN-ULL DISCLAIMER THE CAR IS MY DAILY DRIVER SO ITS NOT AS IF IT SITS AROUND DAYS OR WEEK (S) AT A TIME WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN.FURTHER, I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE INEXPLICABLY TURNING ON ON THEIR OWN SHORTLY AFTER I PARK VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE APP SHOWS EVERYTHING OFF, WINDOWS CLOSED,ETC. iS ANYONE ON THIS EXPERIENCING SAME/SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE NEWER GLE'S -PARTICULARLY THE GLE 450?

I’ve had some random things that quit working for a short time. Now only one that repeats. “Mirrors fold on lock‘ won’t stay off. Turn it off and in a few days it’s back on again. There must be some software conflicts that build up. Mine got to the point that the MBUX Assistant and Nav were acting up!
The recent TSB updates seem to have helped but I haven’t been on a road trip to test. They also disconnected the 12 Volt battery and that probably cleared the system like a reboot on a computer. There are numerous computers (control units) and some functions overlap creating an environment for issues like software conflicts.

- woke up to find the headlights (just the headlights) on early last Sat morning.
It was parked outdoors overnight (roadtrip) - saw the glow as I approached it (was still dark) - remotely unlocked / locked w/ the key fob - they went off
Somewhat concerned about this - don't know how long they were on of if they even went off the night before - don't want to be stranded w/ a dead battery - had no audio on the evening commute - no radio, nav, assistant, phone - nothing. Everything else was normal but silence.
Soft reset (exit, arm, disarm) fixed it

Supposedly lights will switch off if the battery gets critical. Not sure what caused you issue, though.Originally Posted by bob01

Our friend's Q8 just broke down for the 3rd time in 9 months 200 miles from their home. Something to do with the fuel pump shutting down was the last one.Originally Posted by GregW / Oregon

Verify your headlight rotator switch.
I once accidentally rotated mine with my knee upon exiting the vehicle. It turned out (pun intended) the parking light was switched on. It took me a minute or two to figure that one out.

Already on day one noticed quite a few inconsistencies in my 450's operation. I am hoping they are all software related and will be fixed sooner than later:
The ventilated seats are a bit of a letdown, I had much better performance on my KIA before.
- Hand-free trunk opening only works sometimes
- Keyless door unlock (or whatever they called it) also works sporadically
- MBUX would sometimes slow down, get choppy, and display error messages that then disappear, when redoing the same action right away
- Album art from Spotify randomly doesn't show when streaming via Bluetooth
- Voice assistant activates at times even though I never said "Mercedes" - they should really rethink the key word on this

Yesterday...
- turned off the HUD for about 30 min to enjoy the fall colours w/o distractions - distronic was on at the time
- the speedometer section was blank when it was turned on later (same trip)
- checked settings to make sure it wasn't accidentally disabled by accidental contact w/ the right steering wheel trackpad - it wasn't
- flipped on / off a few times no dice, the speedo panel remained blank
- after a while the large 'hands-on-steering wheel' graphic appeared in the panel, when it disappeared the speedometer came back
Seems like a redraw bug - the speedo was probably going to be replaced w/ the 'hands-on' warning when the HUD was turned off.
When it was turned back on I'm guessing there was persistent state that flagged it as still hidden. This state was reset when the 'hands-on' warning appeared/disappeared.

...this is actually easily reproducible
- turn on the HUD
- enable distronic
- wait for the large 'hands-on-steering' graphic which replaces the speedo/distronic graphics to appear
- disable the HUD
- turn on the HUD the speedo/distronic graphics will be missing until the large 'hands-on-steering' graphic reappears then disappears

I mentioned this in another thread but I came back to my MB today and all 4 windows were rolled down about an inch.
The only way this could have happened I think would be that I somehow pressed the remote control for too long and it activated it.
There's no other explanation unless the software is bugging out and the vehicle operates itself...

A long press on the remote (Convenience Opening) should roll them all the way down and open the sunroof.Originally Posted by bad habit

I had an issue with my 2020 GLE 450, where the check engine light came on and the 48 V battery malfunction light come on, next the coolant light, check engine light. Had the vehicle tow back to the dealer. I forgot to mention this was October 1, 2020, and now its October 28, 2019 and they still cant solve the problem. Keep hearing consulting with the engineers in Germany. The have changed the 48V battery, changed the coolant, DCU, and still no fix. I purchased the car in September and been back twice, one for recall, and the current issue. Slowly getting the feeling I purchase a lemon. I don't think they have a clue on a fix!!!!!!

You have come from the future and there are still issues?! Seriously, 27 days is way too long. Depending on where you live (add to your profile), you are likely close to being able to lemon it, though I would hate to have to go there. Mine was in for 12 + 2 days, but has been good for the nearly 8 weeks since. So there is hope they will get it squared away.Originally Posted by Roadhog56

Got a "dirty sensors" message this morning while driving in light rain - I inspected the vehicle and the sensors were very clean, hope this doesn't become an issue in the winter.

Last night...
- car parked outside for the evening, about 2c for the duration of a dinner party until about 1am
- left the left park lights on, remote started the car with the app about 5min before leaving (1st time trying this)
= car sounded louder than I remember as we approached, switched off on unlock/entry
= drivers seat and steering wheel had moved into a random position
= got a burst of error/warning dialogs, 3 or 4 I think(SRS inactive, 4Matic inactive - don't remember the others - happened fast), all indicators on the dash appeared to be lit, no READY light, engine not running
- hit the start button (again), engine started - short drive home, can't say if engine felt normal or not
= blank screen while reversing into garage - could hear the proximity sensors but no camera video or graphics
= soft reset (engine stop -> open/close drivers door -> engine start) and parking assist started working again

Last week...
- car parked in office underground parking all day
= AC started up full blast cold - all zones seemed to have been spontaneously set to LOW
- manually restored setting to 22c, operation normal afterwards

Not an issue but more of a WTF? At about 8,000 miles a message popped up on the center screen asking me if I wanted to make a Service Appointment now or later. Each time I start the car I get the same message. After a week I called to get Customer Care and explained that I would like the message to go away. They told me that it can’t be deleted and will continue to appear even if I made an appointment. Resetting the Service interval is the only solution.

Odd that it's asking for service that soon. Service interval used to be about 15k. Ask your service department what it's for.Originally Posted by Ron.s
