edit to add pictures.

these ripples were here from day one. It seems to be something to do with how the leather was laid when it was stitched on rather than normal stretching you see with use. Even at the seams in the last picture, the leather is starting to tear a little. Has anyone else experienced this?
Wow this is not normal. Looks awful. My driver seat was wearing off and and I had the dealer replace it under warranty. You need to have the dealer replace fix those seats. Unacceptable

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I’m glad this isn’t normal and that it should be fixed. Off to the dealer I go!

I just want a reliable vehicle to drive. I don’t want to worry about it , I don’t want to think about it , I just want to drive it. Is that too much to ask for nowadays?

this vehicle with those seats like that should’ve never left the MB factory, in that condition. Where has quality control gone !?

When vehicles were being delayed it was reported that the seats made by Lear were part of the problem - not sure if it was supply or quality control. Lear won JD Power awards for seat quality in 2018: https://www.lear.com/Press-Room/5578...ry-market.aspx

GLE 450 And some not MB cars
Once a month i have some stupid AC problem. The AC no my car not blowing cold air unless i turned temperature as LOW. If I turn to 61 its blowing super soft neutral air. Well i am live in FL, the AC is most important thing, and sometimes its not working.

Send the car to dealer before, the keep the car for a week, and cant find how. Dealer told me they cant repeat the problem, so they cant fix it.

I’m very disappointed too! I already contacted my guy at my dealership about the seats. This is not Mercedes Benz quality the way it should be especially a car costing so much.

keep on, demand your dealer replaces this under warranty. Unacceptable. Also simultaneously print those pics and send it to MB Customer Assistance Center, 1 Mercedes Benz Drive m, Sandy Springs, GA
if MB doesn’t take responsibility for their screw up, no need to buy their cars, overpriced and mediocre quality. We certainly won’t be buying MB ever again. Not worth it. Huge headache and a money drain

The seat issue is one of their re-work items that impacted thousands of GLE’s and GLS’s...
Vendor problem. US vendor AFAIK...
Have it replaced. MB will do that.

i has one MBtex seat replaced a while back and Looking at y front passenger, the bottom is wrinkled and I wish Now , I had asked the dealer to replace that as well. It doesn’t look good.

It’s it as much as a “vendor” issue but rather a MB Corp issue. MB is losing grip on Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

On the new X5 forum some of their owners are saying the wrinkles on the back of the rear seats are designed in by BMW to make the seats more comfortable - unbelievable!.

I mean no disrespect to anyone experiencing these wrinkly seats, but may I ask why you accepted the delivery of the vehicle in that condition? Or did the wrinkles appear later?

Back in 2012, when I leased a Ford Focus SEL hatch (excellent little car by the way), I was sold the idea that I was getting a pearl white finish, not a solid white finish. On delivery day, the sales guy asked me if I saw my car outside, to which I said no. He pointed it out, and I said no, that wasn't my car. I asked for pearl white. Bring in the Senior Director and long story short, they reordered another car with the colour I was expecting.

I was at my dealership storage lot to check out the GLE before they unwrapped the car. I really didn't notice anything since the plastic cover was on the seats. The day I picked my car my mom came with me and she was in a rush to go to a party, didn't really have a lot of time to look over the car in detail.
Been less than 2 weeks since I got the car and I really didn't notice the seat condition until a couple of days ago, unfortunately. I did contact my guy at Rallye Motors and he's already getting me an appointment to bring my car into the shop. My guy said don't worry he got my back and it will be taking care of regarding the seats inside the GLE.

I actually noticed one of the seats 💺 and pointed it out to our sales rep, but it’s my fault for not following up with the dealer and having them replace it. My driver seat was replaced because it was wearing off.
- we have the panoramic glass sunroof and have had constant door frame creaking, especially going over ramps / uneven surfaces. It feels the whole vehicle frame shifting. The dealer has had the vehicle numerous times and replaced all door seals , them lubricated a number of times. Still creaks. They can’t do anything about it. So I’ve given up on it.
Luxury has a new name “ expensive rubbish”
Lost time I spoke to MB head office customer advocacy group, they really don’t like taking responsibility for anything and everything is “ normal and within range “
it was my wife’s idea to buy this heap of expensive rubbish because she didn’t like the way the Lexus looked. Sigh 😔

A gaggle of MB's
"Door seal squeaks" are quite straight forward to solve... clean the door jamb with a alcohol wipe.. apply light coat of the ShinEtsu to door frame and door seal...

Thanks 😊 Will try it. I’m in Saint Anthony.
The dealer greased it them continue to squeak, then replaced the seals, still squeaked, on and on it went.
The dealer must’ve used a Mercedes product, that’s why it didn’t work.
Found it cheaper by $1.50 on eBay authorized Honda dealer‘s page.

I heard back from my dealership regarding the leather seats in my 2020 GLE 450. They are ordering brand new seats for the passenger and driver side and will take many weeks to get it.

Sorry that you had to deal with this issue.
It should not happen, but as long as MB is taking responsibility it is also not so bad.

If I could get brand new seats in a year or two under warranty, and live with the wrinkles until then, it would be my preference over getting it now.
Since the wrinkles are mostly cosmetic it is not a big deal, and his way a wearable item gets a new life and it is also a better sale value for the whole car.
Seats condition is one of the first things inspected.

You can sit back and relax

Applied the grease on the door’s insulation and trunk. Seems to be working. Haven’t heard “creaking” so far but first day out. Listening when I go over ramps or uneaten surface. I hope this fixes the issue. Thanks

I just got back my car and the dealer said they replaced the seat leather. It looks better but there’s still one or two wrinkles in the seat. I’m curious to know exactly what they end up doing with yours.

I'm still waiting and will probably wait a little longer since everything in NY is basically shut down. My front seats and 2nd-row seat will be replaced.
