If you log into the Mercedes Me portal on your computer (or iPad) it pops up and if you enable it you get some additional Profile settings that weren’t there before (see pic).

Cool - that must be the profile synchronization discussed here https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post7797977 and mentioned in both the manual and on the Mercedes me portal but has not been available. It should allow you to synchronize a profile image on the portal with the vehicle. The portal is down right ow (seems to happen a lot) but I will try later.

Yes, it lets the synchronization you mentioned. You can assign other users and have each users settings unique to their profile.

Looks like they're still working the bugs out! I was able to set our drivers' profiles, but cannot configure them. It appears you will need a data connection to the vehicle to use this feature.

I was able to set mine up this morning and can confirm that the profile picture was pushed to my car and I see the pic on startup.
My picture was there this morning but I am not able to keep the setup page on the portal connected long enough to do anything with it. I got the date and time formats entered but that is about it. Hopefully it is a work in progress.
Yes, but I did have replace the pic that was used for my profile. I replaced it under the new menu and at the top of the website as well to be safe. I’m not sure which did it because the profile pic wasn’t there from the changes I made yesterday.
I'm not sure if it was mentioned in this thread, but I remember some people were experiencing issues with their keys "falling asleep".
Reading the manual on page 68, it says:
If you do not use the vehicle or a SmartKey for
an extended period of time, you can reduce the
energy consumption of the respective SmartKey.
To do so, deactivate the key functions.
# To deactivate: press the "padlock" button on the
SmartKey twice in quick succession.
The battery check lamp of the SmartKey
flashes twice briefly and lights up once.
To activate: press any button on the Smart‐
Key.
% When the vehicle is started with the Smart‐
Key in the marked space of the center console,
the key functions are automatically
activated (/ page 161).

Greg mentioned it previously. The battery life of all my previous Fobs exceeded the 2 years when I normally change them. Unless Mercedes Fob is different I'm not sure why they need the sleep mode but it may be more complex than others.

I suppose if you are a snowbird going south for winter, you want to extend battery life.

The sleep mode means that the key cannot be cloned when activated.

So, our profile pictures have been pushed to the car, but cannot adjust any other settings from the portal. When I synced the two it used our Mercedes me profiles instead of the ones already set up in the car, so have to reset all the settings.
My wife just called, and the issue for which our car spent 12 days in the shop a month ago has recurred. It would not turn over after being off for a while. Luckily I had shown my wife how to disconnect the battery to reboot it, which worked.

This is getting a little disconcerting.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can get it resolved faster than last time (and, hopefully, for good).

I'm not taking it back in unless they have a better clue about what's going on. All they came up with in concert with MBUSI last time was "paint on the ground terminals," which I never believed was the issue. I emailed the service manager and he's looking into it.
