2020 GLE 450 MBUX head unit keeps rebooting
My 2020 GLE 450 has suddenly developed a weird problem. Upon startup, the "Mercedes Benz" splash screen on the MBUX main screen displays for longer than normal, and then the radio comes on to some station at a medium volume while the splash screen continues to be displayed. Moving the volume rollers does nothing. Twenty seconds later, the screen goes blank and the radio goes silent. Five seconds later the whole process repeats, endlessly. Basically, MBUX seems to be stuck in a reboot sequence. Restarting the car doesn't make it go away. The instrument cluster is showing normally, but the Airmatic controls do nothing and the ride mode is stuck on C.

I’m experiencing same Prob with my just delivered ‘21 GLS580. After 4 hours connected to service update, no improvement. Dealer had to order a replacement MBUX head unit [from Germany] and will take 5 working days to arrive. Not sure why this “part” not already Avail in Alabama, since the SUVs are built there? Did screen improve on your GLE?

I’m experiencing same Prob with my just delivered ‘21 GLS580. After 4 hours connected to service update, no improvement. Dealer had to order a replacement MBUX head unit [from Germany] and will take 5 working days to arrive. Not sure why this “part” not already Avail in Alabama, since the SUVs are built there? Did screen improve on your GLE?

The MBUX head unit replacement ETA is now March 17th. This affects not only the sound system, but the ride mode options, navigation and everything else on the middle screen. Frustrating when you wait 5 months for a built GLS and after the first day of ownership, there is no Info system.

I waited 11 months on mine and then it spent 17 days of the first 20 of ownership in the MB service center while I was in a GLC300 loaner. I feel your pain. Call MB customer support and ask for Executive Referral Manager Jeffery. He didn’t give me a bit of help, and could careless, but I’d love others to call and see if he can help them for a change. 1-800-367-6372. Ext 6206

It's infuriating. My brand new 2020 GLE 450 was at the dealer for three months while they went back-and-forth with Germany trying figure out how to fix a messed up strut. They gave me a base model A220 loaner during the time lol. Now I'm facing the prospect of an entire month being forced to listen to a stupid radio station at medium volume in 20 second intervals and driving only in mode C because the MBUX system is incredibly fragile.

SAME MBUX REBOOT PROBLEM HERE 3-2-21
Just drove to our local dealer in Norcal Yesterday to pick up our beautiful new GLE 450 they’d located for us and had shipped. Same mbux reboot to a T. Now we are stuck waiting for an MBUX control module replacement from Germany. 5-7 day initial estimate. What was going to be an amazing day for my wife and I turned out to be depressing and made us question (heavily) our purchase. We love the dealership and the sales rep so we are going to wait and hope this part arrives quickly and works and lets us take our new ride home otherwise we may have no choice but to REBOOT our purchase.

2021 GLE 450 MBUX HEAD UNIT KEEPS REBOOTING
The same thing is happening to my 2021 Mercedes Benz GLE 450, it started this morning when I got in the vehicle. I have not had the car 60days yet. I purchased it on 02/01/21. I waited a while for this vehicle, I went in and designed it myself back in October and now not even 60 days after I get it, this is happening🤦🏽♂️ I still love my SUV, I just want it fixed... ASAP

I purchased my '21 GLS 580 on Feb 6, '21, and on the second day, dark middle screen - doesn't work at all. Waiting almost two months now for replacement MBUX system from Germany! I know, third world problems, right????

Wow, this is insane. I am here in South Fl. and I finally was able to drop mine off to the shop today. I was told it could take a while, as they are not even sure what the problem is. I was told I would get a call tomorrow with the status🤦🏽♂️

MBUX REBOOT SAGA CONTINUES
Until then I’m going to drive the wheels off their loaner as I’m paying near $1,000 a month for a new vehicle that sits in their lot unusable.

I think it’s hurting their clients a lot more than it’s hurting them. They obviously have a bad vendor as QC is not good. If i got 2 bad cars in 3 weeks with the same REBOOT ISSUE what else is happening out there in the wild?
