Let’s talk performance on the 5.5L
I’m looking to do bolt ons and a tune, but information is few and far between.
I don’t get why catless downpipes are $3k but catted are $1300. I’m strongly considering catless and then adding high perf cats if I really hate it.
I can’t seem to find a cold air intake anywhere. Are they just ineffective or am I bad at googling?
Lastly, I’m looking for feedback on resonators. Should I just have a shop weld in a straight pipe where they are or keep them on a daily with downpipes and a stage 2 Eurocharged tune?

I also contacted Black Boost and they said their cold air kit for the CLS would fit our engine bay as well as the new intake duct tubes

I spoken to Akram (owner?) of Eurocharged quite a bit. He ordered me a downpipe and Black Boost CAI. Unfortunately, the intake and My Genius are backordered indefinitely. Once I install the downpipes, he will install the Stage 2 tune for me if My Genius isn't back in stock.
I have a very silly goal of making the GLE faster (1/4 mile) than the Viper. Then I can get "LOL VIPR" or "VPR EATR" plates or something, just for the trolling and lols. (I'm actually fairly sure my viper is slower in the 1/4 that stock by a good bit, just because I added aero (drag) and much stiffer suspension, so it shouldn't be that hard)

I have a stage 2 eurocharged tune and the car runs 11.75 @ 119. I just ordered catless downpipes; hoping to get the car to 11.40’s with the addition of the downpipes. From there, my plan is pure 900 turbos. I would ultimately like to run high 10’s. As far as the CAI, besides blackboost, I am not seeing very many options.

So my 11.75 run was 43 degrees., altitude was 1181 ft., and the DA was 248 that day. I have done many runs with this car and it’s pretty consistent. The key is coming out of the hole with no wheel spin. I have Michelin pilot sport 4s. They hook decent much better than the Continentals.

If I run 11.3, I’ll call that good enough to be officially faster than the viper (I’m not going to take the viper to a drag strip- road course maybe).
how has your car held up? So long as it is reliable, I’m going to enjoy this car, regardless of lap times. It’s put a much bigger smile on my face than I expected. The sounds and the way the trans downshifts one gear at a time and the broad power and is all just so (chef kiss)

I can give feedback on resonators, previous owner removed the stock resonator. So I am running 3" catless dps and stock exhaust from dp back. I welded in a set of Borla resonators in an attempt to muffle it more ( did get a better sounding exhaust note afterwards) but it did not work as planned. If you're wanting to keep it more on the quieter side I would leave the stock resonator in place.

I welded in a set of Borla resonators in an attempt to muffle it more ( did get a better sounding exhaust note afterwards) but it did not work as planned. If you're wanting to keep it more on the quieter side I would leave the stock resonator in place.
