Color advice 2024 GLE53
I know color is very subjective but I am looking for advice.
Have placed an order for an obsidian black on red/black exclusive nappa with Night package. Black is so difficult to keep clean but love the look.
Definitely want the red black nappa interior but now second guessing black exterior color choice.
Need help deciding please. Thoughts on the Alpine grey…worth $ upgrade? How does it look in person? Has it got depth and shine or is it a dull cement grey?
Another possibility is the silver. TIA.

We spent a few Sundays on dealer lots, expressly to see what the colors looked like when unkempt and filthy.
Obsidian Black was a surprising winner, at least for Colorado dirt. Also good were Diamond White, Selenite Gray and Mojave Silver.
Got Obsidian Black, and it's been as expected. Stunning when clean and not so bad when dirty.
I think it would look odd without the Night Package, and the others would look odd with it.

I have obsidian on my 22 Gle53 coupe. It’s amazing when clean! I do not have the night package…not my thing. I am contemplating emerald green for my 24 coupe, but will prob stick with obsidian. Also, Diamond stitch Nappa…it is the way!

I actually prefer "black" to the obsidian black. I've had both and just think it looks deeper and nicer when clean. Of course, if you're one who enjoys the flake/sparkle then obsidian is the way to go.

Obsidian + night package + black wheels = best look for AMG
Diamond white/selenite grey + silver wheels = best luxury look

Alpine Grey black or chrome wheels
Thanks for the responses! I love the obsidian black with night package as I have ordered it. But my last 2 cars were black.
Really looking for something different and hence opinions on the Alpine Grey specifically with red interior. And whether chrome or black 22 inch wheels would look better?
Since MB has introduced as a special color I would think it’s pretty nice.

right here, alpine grey and black 22’s. personally I don’t like it.
obsidian goes best with black wheels and night package.
all other colors (grey included) go best with no night package and silver wheels.

honestly a lot of ‘lower end’ model cars have used a color like this recently. Honda comes to mind. It’s doesn’t exude luxury to me whatsoever, more like Civic Si vibes.

Thanks. Obsidian Black order
Hi All,
Thanks for all the responses. I am back on track and sticking with my obsidian black with night package. I love the aggressive look.
I checked the German site and found out the Alpine grey has a 3600 Euro up charge. 😳
I am in Canada and my freeze date is May 21. No idea if July 13 build date will change. I got a lot of options and only reject so far is the carbon fiber trim. So opting for black piano instead.

Blue?
Would you consider Brilliant Blue with the Night Package? I'd avoid any grey due to poor visibility by other drivers as it blends into the asphalt color. Brilliant Silver is OK in this regard.

I take back above advice on only getting night package with black.
My wife and I just went to dealer to look at a ‘23 Coupe with polar white + night package + black 22’s. Her and I loved it so much I just changed our ‘24 Coupe order to that exact same setup. Incredible, I had never seen that combo in person, it’s perfect.

Unfortunately Brilliant Blue hasn't been available on the GLE since MY22. I loved that color on my C63.

That said though, Graphite Grey is nice if that is an option after Selenite Grey, I don't think Spectral Blue really replaces Brilliant Blue given the darkness of Brilliant Blue compared to much more lighter Spectral Blue. Sadly Red and Emerald Green is also gone.

One dealership just posted pics of their alpine 53C. Looks so washed out and weak in daylight. No way I’d pay a premium for this:
