My 2018 GLS had a 110v household type outlet. The 2024 doesn't have one, at least I can't find one in my GLS 450. Looks like I will have to buy a power inverter to power two MacBook Pros for occasional use on long trips. Anyone have a suggestion for particular brands?

The household outlet was indeed discontinued for 2024. Mercedes sometimes uses the word "de-contented," when referring to things that we used to enjoy but are now gone. Mercedes giveth, and Mercedes taketh away...



At least you can stop looking for the outlet in your new car...

Are these modern machines that use USB PD? There are any number of 12v -> USB PD adapters available. That would save you from having to go 12vdc -> 120vac -> USB PD 20vdc.

The 2024 GLS has at least 2 100W Usb-C ports, so, no need for all of that. Should be able to use those directly for power to those machines that take it. Probably one of the reasons the 120V plug was removed...
