I picked my GLS up at 10 this morning.
Hands down, Sun Motorcars was the most pleasant purchasing experience I have had yet. The GLS is perfect, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Congrats on the new ride. Glad Sun Motors worked out well for you. We have only good things to say about them. Adam and the owners are class acts.

That is a great-looking combination. Good choice! Around here, there are only Night packages (including ours), so it's refreshing to see the chrome shining on a car!

I have never been a fan of the blacked out look - call me old fashioned 🤣
My Suburban I traded was a High Country, so everything was Galvano Matte Chrome and the wheels had chrome accents. It stood out among the many, MANY blacked out Suburbans that are out there.

I have not messed around with it much, but the person going over everything with me commented that it isn't the most functional thing.
I'm really only looking forward to the automatic lighting of the passenger seat area for a reach at nigh function, myself.

That is the only thing I use, and regularly. It does sometimes ask me whether I want to assign some function to a gesture I made while showing something to the kids, but I have no idea what I did, nor do I plan on doing it again...

Can you get the high-end Burmester with the gesture control now?
It used to be that the Burmester's center height speaker wouldn't allow the gesture sensor.

Congratulations! I know from your posts that it was an ordeal, but definitely worth the wait. Beautiful color ... how many people have told you it looks black when its cloudy/dark outside?!
Now that its been 2 months, what are your thoughts?

Thank you!
I haven't been mistaken for black, but people have commented how it pops in sunlight. I could do for it to be a bit lighter, but I am pleased.
I'm at about 3,000 miles right now and am doing my first oil change this weekend. I am very pleased overall... not a rattle, squeak, or anything. I'm a bit behind my usual pace of driving but will be picking up this summer along with weekly towing.
Coming from my Suburban with air ride, the ride on this is much firmer all around, but the improved handling is worth it. I have the acoustic comfort package, and it is about on par with the Suburban in terms of NVH, with the Suburban having a slight edge out on the highway. Gesture control is slick and works well - you do need to be deliberate with your motions and pause for a second when issuing the gesture. I have 2 fingers forward set to bring up seat comfort, and frequently use the massage.
I think my only complaint about it is something I knew coming in, but it is that this feels tiny compared to the Suburban. It's easy to place on the road, but I do miss being able to swallow cargo. I'm going to be picking up a Sprinter for my business in the next few months, so that will solve the hauling needs I suppose.

We have almost the exact same car, except for running boards, wood trim and gesture control. I have had a few people tell me it's black, but, yes, that the green really pops in the sunlight.
This is my first Mercedes and I absolutely love it. I am genuinely excited to drive this every day. I had a '18 Lexus GX and, although it was solid and reliable, it wasn't as fun to drive and certainly not nearly as luxurious. The handling on the GLS is so much better. I too frequently use the massage feature.
I've had it for 6 months now and I've racked up a little over 9,300 miles on it. Just had the Service A, along with a full detail, and I've had no discernable issues. However, about 4 days into owing it, I started to hear a rattle in the center console. It drove me nuts, considering how much I paid. I fretted about the dealership taking apart the console to figure out what was causing it, but it turned out that that wasn't necessary. They discovered it was a loose trim panel on the side of the console which just needed tightening. It worked and I haven't heard a peep since. Of course I also cut a corner too close and then had to have the rim buffed out, but you'd never know it.
Hope you continue to enjoy yours.
