Killed C63 and 996TT

Fun night in Mexico.

I did a highway roll with a black C63 AMG. He had smoked tail lights. Car sounded very, very loud and throaty for a stock car. We did 3 different runs. The first 2 I was in 2nd gear and we started at about 45-120. The C63 stood with me for about half a second and then was left back by about 10 lengths. The 3rd race I went from 1st at 30mph. I got lots of wheels spin but was still able to pull easy once the RPM's started to climb.

Obviously a Z06 beats a C63, but I'm just posting it here for fun since I'm a huge MB fan and an even bigger fan of the C63. I was really impressed with it. The other reason I'm posting it is because about an hour after that, I got to race a 996TT

We both went from 2nd gear from like 30-110. Honestly, I think that the C63 could run with or maybe even pull on a 996TT. I thought it would be faster but it was toast. I'd love to see the results of a C63 vs a 996TT. I have a feeling the C63 may suprise us. That car is one quick SOB. Best part of it was the exhaust though...what a rumble

Fun night! Hopefully my boys can get some vids of the C63 for your enjoyment. I'm out! (waking up at 4:45am for work and it's almost 1am lol). Peace

BTW: my boy's Stage II E55 went against an E92 M3 a few months ago and he told me he annihilated it. From the description, the M3 should be a solid kill for a C63. AMG definitely came out on top of M this time.

I don't get this? Why would you compare a stage II e55 to an m3? A stage II e55 will annihilate an m5 so of course its going to destroy the lesser m3.

As far as c63 goes, I've heard that the manual m3 is pretty even with the c63, with the c63 maybe coming out on top. On the other hand I've heard the m3 with dual clutch beats the c63. These are races I've heard about from other people so have no idea whether they are accurate.

I agree, of course the modded E55 would beat an M3. I destroy the E55 with my Z06. He beat the M3 by about 10 lengths. I beat the C63 by about 10 lengths....meaning, from what it seems (completely unaccurate, yet I think these would be the results), the C63 would beat the M3 by a pretty decent margin in straight-line acceleration. I think all of the major magazines have proven that the C63 is the faster car as well.

While he may be able to make his C63 quicker, it'll never take a Z06.

It's not faster around the bends though.

It's a nice little car the C63 but the Z06 is stupid fast. Not surprised about the 996TT result. The M5 walks them too unless modded so I don't miss mine.

It's an AMG. M will always be ahead "in the twisties" lol. That's just the way it is. I'm strictly talking about straight line.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the 996TT. I think he may have had an exhaust. It's amazing what a turbo swap can do for that car though because I've seen some blazing modded 911 Turbos around here. Those K16's just don't cut the mustard anymore. I'd like to run into a 997TT. That would be fun

It's all about the twisties. M3/M5/M6 outhandle the GT3 RS there while the driver sips coffee.

With the 997TT, do not run it from a dig. With tip they hit 3.5 to 62 all day. Crazy stoplight cars. I'm fiddling with my iDrive whenever one pulls to a stop next to me. However, I will follow them up an on ramp...

Well you can always use the M5's fantastic launch control....oh wait, nevermind. It completely blows.

I'd love to see a reflashed C63 X your Z06. Knowing your car is not stock would be very interesting comparison.

So it could loose by a little less? The ECU isn't the hangup, it's the cramped engine bay. You need headers/exhaust/ecu and maybe an intake to make 500+hp. And even then you don't stand a chance against a Z06.

Essentially, the motor in the C63 is a detuned variant of the engine found in the other 63 models. Some BPU will make it fast, but to stand with a Z06, you're going to need to dabble into either forced induction or nitrous.

Oh I know all about it, but this kid is really under the impression that with some massaging he'll be able to hang with a Z06, which I think we all know is an exercise in futility. That thing was born to run, I know some head/cammed Z06's that can almost take my Supra.

by the looks of a lot of its customers, the C63 is turning into the "Fisher Price My First AMG"

Haha. I really hope that would not be the case, delusional owners deteriorating a great car (cough, cough G35 cough).

What does that Supra of yours trap at?

Can't get it to hook up, but a Supra with the same exact motor built by the same guy trapped at 141. That's insane fast.

LOL. Hey man, if they think a C63 with an ECU flash can take my car, then by all means let them try their luck. More fun (and if I'm lucky, money) for me

I just love keeping my mouth shut and playing dumb, lol.

That's about a buslength on an Enzo.

You must be spinning your tires through 3rd. Did you try mounting some slicks in back?

Yes it does. Scary too. Never tried slicks, 6-speeds at this level of power will annihilate their rear ends if they get too much grip. I'll stick with my 19's and do highway rolls, that's what I wanted her for anyway. When I'm on the highway with that thing, it's like flying an F-22 in a sea of P-51 mustangs.

Just wondering if you raced a regular 2008 LS3 corvette yet and what do you think the outcome would be between C63 and LS3 Corvette?
