Wow, good luck. I dont think you'll get anywhere near that price with the mileage, especially in this market but it is a very nice looking car.

I know the prices for the E55's has drop within the last 2-3 months or so.

Based on what I see on eBay, Autotrader, Craigslist, etc.

I have done a lot of research based on mid $30 cars. I found a lot of the E55's within that range have been through 2-4 owners, accidents, modified, higher mileage, less option(s), etc.

I based my asking price on KKB.com
(which was almost 2-3 months ago)

Current mileage & Options (12/18/2008)

Blue Book Suggested Retail Value $48,665.00

Blue Book Private Party Value $42,265.00 (Good rating)

Blue Book Trade-In Value $39,050.00 (Good rating)

I kept my asking price high, because there's no point of lowering it. If I lowered my asking price, the low-ball offers would just get lower....

Don't get me wrong guys
If this was the case and I had to sell my car at mid $30's, I would just keep it.

Thanks for your comment(s) and feedback. I didn't take this as a personal bash or a bad thing, I just wanted to explain a bit more on my part.

Thanks for the explaination. I personally hate to see these cars reduce their value so much and so quickly. It's great for the buyer but sucks alot for the seller. Unfortunately, the reality is that it is a soft market for these kinds of cars, well all cars in general.

Good luck in the sale. If I were you, I would just keep the car. But if you really had to sell it, just prepare yourself to sell it in the 30's.

I agree. The market is terrible and is only going to get worse.

2006 e55's are selling at auction for $30k today. Next month they will be in the high $20s max. A 2005 with only 23k miles sold for $21k last month.

It's last registered as fleet vehicle from GA. So, since you're not a dealer, that means I wouldn't have to pay you sales tax right...well to you anyway? Just want to make sure. I REALLY like that car. I just wish it were maple wood in the E55s. Do you ever drive it down to San Jose or Monterey?

That is correct, the buyer would have to pay CA sales tax (based on your ZIP code). The sales tax will be paid to the DMV or I can submit the payment for you.

I just got a chance to drive this car over the weekend on a decent drive. I went to Monterey Bay Aquarium and stop by San Jose for dinner.

What if I weren't a CA resident, I'm not? I shoudn't have to pay CA sales tax if I buy from a owner and not a dealer, right?

Guess I missed you on that trip. If I get the urge to drive up that way, I'll let you know.

If you are not in CA you do not have to pay sales tax. However, check with your local DMV for the registration fees and taxes you might have to pay.

Friend is looking for one and is willing to pay you $2,000 if you could find him a one owner, accident free '05 with less then 25,000 miles for $22,000 I guess you have plenty of auction prices of such cars to back up your statement, right ?

With the amount of cars for sale at this time, and for much less with less mileage, there is no way you will get that for this car. Yes nice car! Great Car! But there are too many out there for lots less, just as nice if not nicer, might as well get use to the idea that your keeping it.

keep your car... realistically speaking if you can get $35k retail right now - you should take it and run. a dealer will take it for 28-29k off your hands. if they take it at all.

however, keep in mind that once it gets out of warranty you get dinged further $5k instantly.

i have been avoiding commenting pricing on this forum unless there is a question on it (reality bites), but since other members chimed in on the market i decided to put in my 2 cents...
