GLK250, 450SL
Hullo -
bought a 2015 GLK250 several weeks ago.
Wasn't actively looking for a different car but this one in particular caught my eye. Tried finding reasons why it wasn't a good match for me but each search did the opposite.
Last car was a newer V60, but it wasn't *my* car, it felt too "prissy" for my lifestyle, and frankly my large dog didn't fit in it well.
Am new to MB's - have driven only Swedish for a decade+, SUV's - only wagons for a couple decades, and Bluetec diesels - only diesel we're familiar with is the Thomas/International skoolie we own.
Am really enjoying my new baby "Hank", and he is quickly becoming a beloved member of the family.
Got to know Swedish weirdnesses pretty well, and am now looking forward to learning MB-diesel weirdnesses - this forum looks like a good place to start.

Hello all. My name is Yves. Im from Montreal Canada. I used to own a BMW M3 (e46). Had it for 11 years. Was looking for something with a bit more refinement. The M3 was a brute that always begged to go fast... Lolll. Been looking at Mercedes for close to one year, waiting to find the perfect for me car. Last week I feel in love. Red C450 with carbon fiber mirror and lip. Night package. Light grey interior. And loads of options.
I will get better pics when its not raing out...:-)

New to Forum
Hi,
I just joined the forum after perusing it for a year. I enjoy the helpful tips and ideals I've received. Thanks for the help. Here's a picture of our 2014 ML350 4matic with the Sports Package. I wasn't particularly interested in getting the package (fewer tire selections with the 20" wheels) , but it was one that was through our Mercedes dealership with the tan interior, pano-moonroof and self parking. I thought the self park feature would be helpful for me wife downtown, but she doesn't use it. To do it again, I would have skipped the self-park and opted for the upgraded lighting package. The stock H7 bulb setup is one of the worse I've encountered, but have since upgraded to HID. Generally, I would argue against doing possibly illegal, or less reliable modifications to the car, but since it already had projector lenses, I found a professional HID source, found a reliable kit and as this was a safety issue- I converted my lighting to HID. I held off on that a long time, but after another long drive through the dark forests back from Canada, I decided to make the switch. I will post on that upgrade in the future.
Here's a few pictures of the ML ready for a trip through the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas.
The cargo box is the Thule Motion XXL (22 cf) with Whisper Aerobars on towers. It adds a ton of much needed storage and allows us to take the family and our 80 pound Boxer in his plush bed in the back. I had just gotten changed out my worn (42,000mi) 265/45/20 Nokian WRG3's to 275/45/20 Michelin Premier ATX. The Nokians were very good in all weather, but became very noisy in the end. These are quite than the OEM Continental Cross Contacts. Also the overall ride feels better with the slightly larger air volume. These larger tires do not rub even at full steering lock and with the vehicle fully loaded.
Will try to post later on the HIDs and tires with pictures later. Feel free to post questions.
Thanks!

Mike here....picked up a 1991 560 SEC, white, light grey interior, 84,000, 2 owner garage queen...was one of my dream cars..or, to quote my 16 year old...one of your 1,000 dream cars.....but it is the one I parted with the money for...wife is not happy...
We live in Greenville, SC since 1987, Charleston, SC prior to that..left 2 years before category 4 HUGO hit and dropped a 40" diameter Sweet Gum tree across my garage that housed a really nice restomod 65 Mustang...talk about luck..
I am a 42 year Bell Telephone retiree who is a car, motorcycle, firearm, stereo, house kind of guy who loves pre 1992 M-B's.
Need to get photos uploaded...give me a couple of days...I'm retired..

Hello all
What's going on MB community! I am Luka and I got a 2018 C43 AMG Sedan. I work for a Mercedes dealer as a Sales Manager in Morgantown, WV and this is my second AMG to date, had a lot of S and RS Audis before this and I also used to have a couple G Wagons, and I still own a 1986 Mercedes-Benz GE230 SWB that was a special build back then and it is currently in my shop getting a full frame off restoration. I am 26 and am originally from Belgrade, Serbia where I grew up. Been following a forum for some time and decided it is time to introduce myself.

Greetings from Silicon Valley!
Just joined. I have an option-deprived 2008 C300 Sport, which I bought new in 2007. Our third MBZ. The E350 Wagon and ML350 were both leased, this one I purchased outright thinking we sell it in 4 years at about, which was our norm. Didn't work out that way. It's been a reliable and otherwise great car and a fun drive. Dealer maintained, little-to-no trouble (other than the ignition switch/key/control module). Thought about selling it about 5 years ago, but wifey talked me out of it, as we had 2 teenagers that soon would be drivers. So it's gone from being my Wife's pristine and prized, a low-mileage San Francisco daily driver, to my 20k mile a year S.F. commute car, once we moved to Silicon Valley. At 120k miles, it became our spare car and slowly d-evolved to Son's first driver, then daughters first driver, and four yeas later back to spare car with 156k mi, and TLC candidate. After a real close look last month, I considering selling, when I realized its' still worth $33k to me, but only about 6k in our local market. So here I am. Empty-nester with a new project on my hands. '...little help, thank you.

Hello everyone:
I have been reading this forum for the last two weeks and finally decided to join. My wife has been driving Benz for years. I finally pulled the trigger and got one of my own - a 2015 C300 W205. Here's the pics:
At the dealership
In our driveway
Next to my wife's GLC43 AMG (She calls her SUV "Lagertha" for obvious reasons)

Hello!
Have lurked around for a while and really benefitted from the info here, now joining to ask some questions of my own! Currently eagerly awaiting European delivery of a new E63 wagon in late November -- and freaking out a bit about winter tire logistics, and MB's general unhelpfulness with same. Will be posting more detailed questions in the appropriate section here just as soon as I find it.

E55
Hello all,
I purchased MB RUSH's E55 this past Sunday and this car is incredible. Before I went to lay eyes on the car, myself and MB RUSH spent at least an hour over several conversations discussing mostly the E55, but also other cars we've toy'd with in the past. I flew up to to pick up the car and drove home 760 miles in 12 hours and 52 minutes, I stomped on it a couple of times but overall I took it easy, I was pretty impressed with the fuel mileage, I got 22 mpg based on how many gallons of gas I had to put in and the miles that I covered - not based on what the digital display told me. I even had google maps back me up as far as the miles driven, Twenty-two mpg is legit for this green queen. I was also very pleased with how little throttle that I had to give it, I had to feather it to maintain 75 and just 10% throttle got us up to 95 in a matter of seconds. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase so far.

First time Benz owner
Thanks for the warm welcome Rock! I am a first time MB owner, and honestly I never wanted to own an MB because I always thought that MBs were for old guys who could afford an arm and a leg to maintain. I actually bought my 2002 C32 AMG V6 Kompressor, out of necessity with the idea to flip the car quickly. But once i got it home and started tinkering around with it, I realized this aint an old man's car! I didnt know anything about MB let along AMG, and once i began to notice the superb engineering, and sexy racy look, I fell in love!
I think im going to be a life long AMG'er! Im looking forward to helping anyone i can and also learning from you guys. Gracias!

2001 E55 AMG for First Vehicle?
Good morning!
I don't current own a Mercedes. My son in college has a small amount saved and would like to have this first vehicle a high-mileage, well-cared for 2001 E55 AMG. I am on here to see if the high-mileage Mercedes ownership experience is a nightmare or a joy. I am a bit handy - change oil, brake, rotor, etc. I don't mind doing some routine care or replacements. So, let's hear it. If you are handy with work and have some tools, would you let your son 1st vehicle a 2001 E55 AMG? Will you bank account hurt from buying parts and monthly auto insurance? Will you grumble at Mercedes if you discover the car is not designed for a shade-tree mechanic?

4Winds, it sounds like an expensive, and fun, endeavor. If you or your son can bankroll the project, go for it. If you have doubts about this, don't do it.
