Replacing Driver's Side REAR DOOR Actuator on 2003 E500 MB

Hello my name is Eva. Hubby is repairing door lock on our Benz. Would appreciate some instructions. We've ordered and have a new actuator. He has the door panel & old actuator off & out.

How do you replace the Driver's side REAR DOOR new actuator without breaking the tabs off?

Look forward to your response.

Thank you.

First, being a "girl" doesn't disqualify you as an adequte troubleshooter; my friend's wife diagnosed the problem with my car using GOOGLE (R) and was directly on-point with the car. It's people that call themselves "mechanic" that I am learning to question. Thanks for your input/reply, and I'll definitely keep you posted. Anyway, I had another mechanic clean all of my fuel filters, and the car supposedly ran all day, then when I went to pick it up the car it had shut off at the first traffic light that I stopped at. Luckily, my mechanic was with me and said that he would re-diagnose the problem. However, he says that if he can't diagnose the problem I will have to take the S500 back to the first mechanic that alledgedly repaired the electrical problem.

I had the same problem, the Mercedes dealer says that there is a a release button near the gear shift that will release it from park. I had the exact same problem, but since I am still having problems relative to the problem you're having I'm not sure what else to suggest that you do. Sometimes your roadside asisstance can be a big help with getting your gear shift out of park. Good luck!

My C class wont start

hello forks, can anyone suggest what might be wrong with my mercedes c class 2002 model, parked the car at home after few hours wished to drive out but she won’t start, the ignition wont sock the key as usual or turn the ignition. don’t have a clue what might be wrong with it, security light flashing in the inside as usual. car was driving perfectly before then no sign of anything going wrong before this happened and no mechanical fault. please your idea would be appreciated as i was told to take the car to mercedes dealer which i know might cost me fortune. thanks

Clk kompressor 2.3 coupe petrol
Need help with parts!!!!!

Hi folks my name is lux and I just got myself a clk 2.3 kompressor coupe
(This is my first car that I could really boast about)
It was meant to be a quick buy and flip my cash but the longer I keep the car the more I love it.
The problem am having is the common rust ( on the front wing and doors)
I can't afford Mercedes parts as such but want to restore the car to the highest standard as I can. I will take pictures later and post them up but need doors and wings at a low cost I live in Edinburgh Scotland uk

2010 ML 63 AMG
Hello, my name is John and I just got my first AMG, a 2010 ML63 with 48,000 miles.

Totally jazzed. Had a 2002 BMW X5 4.6is, but always wanted an AMG.

08 c350 wont start!! Please help!

Hey guys. I am new to this group. I have a 08 C-350 with close to 95k miles on it. Over the weekend, my car would not start and it is driving me crazy. Here are the symptoms.
- all lights and radio works
- cranks over for one second but does not start.
-starts every time if you jump it.
- once the car starts, it runs perfectly.

I originally thought it was a battery. I replaced the battery. Same problem after it started couple times.

I took the car to a benz specialist and they plugged the car up to the star machine and told me that they found no errors.

They told me that it might or might not fix the problem but might be the crankshaft position sensor. Replaced it and same problem. I jump started the car and left the car at a dealership overnight drop.

The alternator also checked out after we tested it!!

Could it be the key? Ignition module? If not, what else!!!!???

Any feedback would be appreciated. Super frustrated.

Congratulations! I had a 4.6is and 4.8is. Great choice on the ML63, that is a great performance SUV. I think the comfort, power, sound, interior all that is much more superior than the BMW. My sister has a 2009 ML63 Loaded up, and I still like sitting in her ML63 much better than my 2010 X5M and I have the upgraded leather and all that crap. I love the X5M, but I wish I can put the AMG interior in it

I have had this many times in all of mine, friends, and family Mercs. What battery did you replace it with, from where, and was it new (assuming it is new), If it is OEM, did you give them your vin? When you Jump it, how are you jumping it? Jumper pack? another car.. if another car, what type of car?

These cars are very sensitive to the type of battery you put in them. I know it sounds weird but I experienced all of what you are talking about. Also, what was the outside ambient temperature when this started happening.

It sounds like you don't have enough cranking AMPs from a healthy battery. A New battery will not work and do the same thing if it isnt correctly sized.

Big Vic,
thanks for the reply. I did not purchase a OEM battery just bought a battery from NAPA. I made sure that the cold crank number was at least 700+ since the stock battery needed 700. It is currently at the dealer now. They did call me this afternoon and told me that they hooked it up and could not find the problem ( other than the car not starting). Shouln't they be able to tell me what the problem exactly is, including a incorrect battery? They told me that they will do further testing and let me know. Just don't want to spend another $300+ for a battery to find out that was not the issue? I was thinking maybe it is the key, security system (stock), or even the ignistion module?? Any thoughts??

The dealer will tell you whatever they want. My two good friends are master techs at benz for over 10yrs. So I never care what they say, they are still techs like most of us with some fancy tools to use to test. But its not a magical tool. You still need a brain to understand the issue.

As for the jumping, What are you using to jump the car? If it is working from a Jump, I am almost 99.9999% sure that nothing is wrong with your keys, or other electrical. A jump won't make those things start working.

I am still leaning towards the correct battery. The amps is only one part of the sizing, the electrical system on the Mercs are more complicated than normal cars that you can just go buy a battery. The ONLY aftermarket batteries that work are the BOSCH ones and even then, we had to get a few different ones to get the car working. Depending on the options on your car, amps will only be part of it.

I would seriously try and rule out the battery and maybe borrow or something from friend or other merc car.

My buddy put an Autozone aftermarket battery that was high cranking amps etc, suppose to work on his e550. Well, it didnt, even after 3 exchanges and sizes up. He bought a Bosch one after providing his VIN and it worked first time.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it is the battery even though autozone tested the battery and they said that it was okay before I replaced it? I obviously changed it anyways. Please let me know. I def appreciate the advice but I am not trying to spend the extra bucks. Thanks.

Hi there! My name is Lucas from The Netherlands. I drive a 1986 W124 260E-class saloon since 2011. I'm planning to do an engine swap to a M104 3.0-24v or M119 4.2 lump. So I hope I can have a lot of input from this forum. Especially since the Dutch W124clubforum isn't really crowded with people who do that kind of stuff...

Mercedes Owner, thinking of giving it up

Hi, I own two '94 mercedes benz C280 cars. One is a driver, the other runs but I've swiped so many parts off it for the other it isn't street legal anymore. This started as fun but the cost of parts for these is making me consider selling off both vehicles. Hoping to meet someone on here who either knows a better source for parts, or wants to buy these two cars and I'll get a couple old pickups to play with. Anyone have any ideas, advice for me? Located in Oklahoma if that changes anything.
