2013 Smart Fortwo Passion Coupe 451
Became a member of the MB brand with the purchase of a 2013 Smart Fortwo Passion Coupe on the 27th of January this year. My name is Ben i live in southern California, the Smarty Gofer is a great car for running to Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Rancho Mirage instead of taking either the Jeep Patriot or the Ford F-350 with a truck camper in the p/u bed. I hope to learn and be able to participate with everyone here on MB World.org. Thanks Bens

2001 S320 Petrol
Greetings from Ireland
Hello Greetings from Ireland. My name is Nick and I've just bought a very clean, low mileage 2001 S320. Nice car. My first German car! Previous cars have been Cadillacs - very unusual here in Ireland.
it's a good car but I've some mysterious electrical fault that is draining the battery in 3 days so I'll be posting up in the electrical section I guess.
Apologies for the poor quality pic - it's the smallest I've got and I can't resize them on this computer.

IrishS320,
Battery drained down in 3 days, you have a major current draw, use a volt ohm meter and start checking fuses, you have more than just a parastic draw, how about the battery how old is it? The battery could have a problem with it. I hope you find the electrical problem.

2004 E55 AMG sold 2012 E550
Hi my name is Stan. Bought the 2004 E55 a year ago to do some land speed racing. I have found a lot of great and useful information on the site. I am planning on utilizing it more and getting more involved with it. My car will always be work in progress as I reach for the maximum performance possible one step at a time.

Battery
Hi There!
You're car is beautiful and I'm jealous...I've always wanted an S-body sedan. I have a friend who has an S-430 and have driven it--it's a wonderful car and every bit a Mercedes.
I had a battery problem with my E-320 a couple months ago. Symptomatically the battery ran down to the point that the lighs (including the headlights) and other electrical stuff ran fine. However, it would not start the car. It turns out that in the E-320 at least, the computer will not allow the car to spin the starter unless the battery is capable of handling that load (which is significant!).
The solution in my case was simply to replace the battery. You may have a different experience, of course. The folks on here are REALLY helpful and will let you know if you ask. It seems most effective to post in the chat area for your model/year car, though you could also try electrical. There are folks on here who are passionate about a particular model car, so they're really knowledgeable about that model and that's why I suggest the are for your car rather than a general electrical question. But try both! Why not?
Have a good evening over there..my ancestry is part Irish so I've always wanted to visit there, but the country is stunningly beautiful, so it's worth seeing even if your NOT Irish!

Battery
Hi bens170 and aw1929,
Thanks for the good wishes. The original battery was new - less than 2 weeks old when I bought the car (the seller conveniently not declaring the issue to me - thanks !) and the replacement is 2 weeks old.
Yes there is some kind of parasitic drain - been reading through the potential culprits on the forum. Could be the alarm, could be the radio (don't have Comand or memory seats). Will do some multimeter tracking.
Yes you all have to come to Ireland to visit - it's a great place, the scenery is wonderful and the people very welcoming.
regards, Nick

Hi
My name is SHAMBHOO, from Pune, India. I bought my Mercedes in 2011. C250 CDI Diesel a 500 Nm Monster. I wanted to buy a car which fitted my 3 conscious and 3 sub conscious wishes, after I narrowly missed an accident in Old FORD Ikon. Consciously I wanted a SAFE, DRIVABLE (AGILE) and COMFORTABLE vehicle and subconsciously I wanted a car with Dashing look all round, Fantastic Audio System and Cornering lights. All my wishes were granted in this car. Even now, I keep looking at again and again whether in parking or reflection on a glass building. I must have done some good deeds indeed in past birth. I was actually driven by DESTINY towards this car. But, that's a different story. Probably in the next message. Story of my selection of Merc. From Ford to Merc. Which took me 4 years.

whats cracking everyone. Thanks for this great site. It really is a life saver. I've browsed multiple times in the past just to see what is possibly going on with my car. I've been a benz owner for about eleven years now (ml320/c240).
Honestly I really joined because I have a peculiar ac problem. Either way, love all around and thanks so much for the site. It Rocks.

Mercedes C300 4Matic W204
New Member Intro
Hi All!
Just joined the forum. I picked up an '09 W204 C300 4Matic. I am a new member here from Ontario, Canada. Have owned a number of vehicles from Audi to Honda to Acura in the past few years. This is my first Mercedes and so far I'm loving it.
Will be scouring the forums for some help on replacing the third brake light and have been running into some issues only with my cd changer (the infamous 'device unavailable' error on Audio 20 system).
Anyways, looking forward to gathering some valuable insights from the forum and to being a part of this community.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hello folks. Nothing too exciting here, just an old, retired couple who bought another Benz…. E350 Sport with AMG wheels and tires. It's a 2014 picked it up coming off a lease with 31K on the odo. Bought two more years of bump to bump warranty and added it to the 1yr CPO warranty .. with unlimited miles.. so that will take us to the year June 2021. All for less than 40K total (and my wife wanted that $15 a month dent repair…..too). The cost should be $1300 less, but when we traded in our C300 it needed that much in repairs, so we just rolled it in the 3% APR loan. This Benz is my wife's car (I drive a Toyota Tundra 2001 with 265K on it, and wouldn't trade it for a new one) and safety is our #1 concern. I know Merc will find something new to put on the next generation of cars… but I sure can't guess what has been left out from this one. LOL
See ya on the road !!

2004 S55 AMG
Hello all! New Benz owner here. I have been researching this forum for several months in preparation for "making the plunge" into ownership. I just purchased a 2004 S55 AMG with 119,000 miles. This car is AMAZING. I feel like a kid again out hot rodding around. I'm told it has a eurocharged tune, getting close to 600hp. I do want to add a remote start and some type of bluetooth arrangement. Other than that, I intend to enjoy driving at every opportunity. Thanks for all the info on this site, it helped immensely with my fears of purchasing a 12 yr old mercedes.
