The changes seem more apparent in live video than they do in still photos. I like the changes, but I don't think their enough to make me want to go and trade my 08 in for a 11.

For me it makes me want a white one. Like the wheels the best.

I second that. Although I like the changes, it doesn't look like a total redesign. It looks like a face-lifted current R and nothing more. The rear end and both sides of the vehicle are identical to the current (previous from now on) version. Good job anyway.

Yeah, it's not really a redesign. More like a mid cycle in-between refresh.

Yes its a refresh design. Other threads have gone over this before, this is just an update to tide customers over till the all new design comes in 2013..knock on carbon fiber.

As for the wheels, they do look great..probably 20' or 22' inchers, but as in most cases with Benz, they are for show purposes and will most likely not make it to the production version. They will settle for 19's as standard and then slip those wheels on the demo car in a sport package or wheel package of sorts.

nice commercial...agree that it's merely facelift, but it does look nice.

You can read about most noticeable updates of 2011 R-Class here: 2011 Mercedes-Benz R-Class updated features from 2010. This article interestingly describes the new R-Class as it went through the "evolution" instead of "revolution".

Also, if you click on the picture - it will take you to the new cool R-Class photo gallery of the mentioned video above and more...

I admit I've come full circle. The new R looks great, and the front has grown on me and looks very elegant. Personally I would wait till MB puts the new V6 and who knows the upcoming turbo V8 in it though.
