ok so i also got the flooding in my floorboards in my 2000 s430. it was raining alot and i notice my rear brake lights came on so i hopped in and the car wouldnt start. heard some random clicking in the back fuses, so i opened the back footlight and saw that the sam box was in water. i removed the rear seat and got all the water out, also read up on this forum and checked the air intake hole and of course it was clogged. i removed the covers and unscrewed the SAM.
Now my question is can i replace this myself??? does it have to be reprogrammed or something? i dont think i will have a problem swapping it out, only worried about it working after..also where can i purchase the sams? i am really low on cash, just lost my job and looking for all the help i can get!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dealer or eBay would be your best bet. Also check on http://www.parts.com for a discounted rate.

According to ClassyS:
If you experienced water damage due to a clogged reed valve after June 16, 2010, but prior to 18 months after the Effective Date of the Settlement or 100,000 miles on your odometer (whichever occurs first), you are eligible to have repairs made at no cost to you at any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. You do not need to file a claim form in this instance; simply take your vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer.

Das Geld is correct; the effective date of the settlement was estimated to be June 16, 2010. See http://www.mbca.org/forum/settlement...erior-flooding and if your dealer continues to resist, take it to MB regional and area managers.
